Dear Ed's and Reds
Not a great result today and as most of you chaps on here would know, footy has been a massive part of my life.
I was made redundant last Thursday and it's a bitter pill to swallow as my performance through C.V. has been nothing but brilliant. I work ( or worked ) in the wholesale industry and have been increasing turnover by between 80 and 150% since last March. Crazy yes, but I have a line manager that has been completely threatened by me. Having worked for the company less than two years ( 20 months ) I'm not going to be able to take a claim to an industrial tribunal.
One might think why post this on here? it's the only place I can vent my utter disappointment without consequence and it's like a mini footy family on here.
So I won't be posting for a while until I get myself back on track as it's made me realise there is more to life than football - the security of my family which is in rubbish streak as it stands

The past year or so has attracted a huge number of casualties one way and another but you need to come through this and come back stronger - you need to be resourceful and think about what other options may be available. Whilst many of the folk here are knuckle-dragging morons, I will say that the folks are very supportive of each other - which is to be admired. The blender of reality has hit - I trust you to come through and win over the situation. Don’t step away, make the most of the support.}

Drogie I’m really sorry to hear that but the cream always rises to the top and whilst it’s a bitter pill to swallow right now I’m sure in the near future you will be back doing the business and smashing it. May be worth sticking your location on here. Never know another red might be looking for someone with your skills as we speak.

Sorry to hear that Drogie. Hold your head up high and don't blame yourself. By all accounts, it sounds like your manager is insecure in his/ her own capabilities. It also sounds like you have the drive and ability to succeed in another organisation, hopefully away from cowardly head-stepping managers.

I'm very very sorry Drogie so as you say this line manager felt threatened by you that meant that you have skills that they don't possess which is why you very unfortunately had to go. So I'm convinced that you will bounce back bigger, better and stronger mate.

One thing I do know from past evperience that things are never as bad as they seem. Personally, years ago I lost my house and a considerable amount of personal money. A wife and 3 young kids at the time to look after. It was tough and I made massive mistakes, mainly because I was too proud to ask for advise. Take whatever help you can get.

Keep fighting Drogie. As someone that has been through the worst of times I can tell you it makes those happy times that will come again all the more memorable. Stay here, post what you want even to vent some more. We are a family on here, yes we fight and argue and disagree sometimes but when one of our own is on need we support them.
