Its difficult to comprehend the stupidity of some pundits who have been way over the top the last few months with their criticism of Liverpool.
These few months have not been due to a loss of form.
The change in results is mainly due to a loss of quality in playing staff over the season.

Any team in the world would struggle losing so many of the first 11 as we have.

All this nonsense being sprouted is only going to make the team stronger and more determined. The Coaching staff more determined.

I believe we would have been winners again this year. And I make us clear favourites for next season.
Sure Man City may go and spend £150 mill on one player, but klopp will find another gem like jota, salah, mane, Robertson, Thiago.
And we will compete in quality with any of the signings others may make.

An Injury crisis leading to a bad season, doesn't change the fact that we are one of the strongest teams in the world.

It was change of personnel and a lack of form. One lead to another. For once, the pundits we’re pretty accurate - we were rubbish for two months.

Some of the criticism was justified. You are only as good as your last game and for about 3 months our form and performances were rubbish.
There are obvious and well documented reasons for those poor performances but you cannot deny that a number of our players are having poor seasons compared to their usual high standards.

Some of it was justified, we lost 6 in a row at home. Any team is going to get criticism for that. Each defeat was almost identical. We were rubbish for 2 months no doubt about it. We couldn’t defend and we couldn’t score not a good combo.

TB2, I disagree. The OP is correct for the most part. The pundits were piling on cos it is what they do. Some of them have had it in for us and Klopp since he walked in the door. Anytime we were in a sticky patch, they would start their agenda spilled all over the papers and airwaves to get him sacked. Remember when we lost 4-1 to Spurs and some tried to get him sacked and even some fans bought into it on this very forum with their OTT comments? In the end, not bothered about it cos we won the BIG ones and they are still salty about it.

Now to your point about player performance, what were you expecting? That there be no drop off in performance and energy levels due to the marathon awe have been in for 3 years? Come on, man you are smarter than that. We already saw that even before lockdown last season so this was not new.

What killed us was obvious. Injuries up and down the squad starting with all CB’s being out in Jan. It stops you from rotating hence, keeping guys who need the rest fresh. Players can’t recover well cos they have to keep playing which led to other injuries and absences. The pundits were NEVER right about a damn thing. They are there to entertain, NOT to analyse football in good faith.

Talk about red tinted specs Olired did you not watch our run of defeats where we could barely muster half a chance. It’s ok to say we were terrible for a couple of months because we were. Many many reasons for it as we all know but come on for once just once call a spade an actual spade.

If we were terrible the way City were last season had we collapsed after we lost VVD for 5 months then, I would be absolutely livid. That is not what happened and I am happy about that cos we are NOT a one man team. It is obvious as I have said in my post and many others have said repeatedly on here. Fair enough Oli - onwards and upwards. let's hope that our players do themselves justice tomorrow and we play to our high level. You are allowed 5 subs in the cL and we have a decent bench atm so we should be able to press them in midfield.

We have Michael Edwards and our scouting team. due to which we don't need to waste 50-60m on players who can't defend and keep signing 60m players and hope one of them makes it😅 truthfully our way is more rewarding! Let's go reds!
