I can't understand how certain players just sat off the likes of Toni Kroos and Modric, giving them the license to move the ball around with no pressure.

There's been a lot of criticism aimed at Bobby this season but the one thing he does give is pressure from the front, something that goes in noticed at times. Yes he's not been at the races this season but neither has the team. I'd have definitely started him last night along with Thiago.

It wasn’t certain players it was every player Modric ran the whole game no one got anywhere near him. Their third goal was just typical example. Madrid could have scored more but settled for 3.

Completely agree. Selection was a disaster from Klopp. Should have played Firmino who would have hovered around Kroos all game.
The logic behind not playing Thiago baffles me completely. You do not sign one of the best midfielders in the world and then leave him out for the biggest game of the season. Especially when he and Fab were just getting into a rhythm in the middle of the park.

The season is a massive disappointment and one that will be quickly forgotten.

Thiago played 50 minutes and couldn’t get near Kroos or Modric. Nearly cost a goal by chesting it in the box. Lost his guy on the corner and was pulling 6 caravans and got his usual booking. One nice forward pass into the box though. Thiago was poor like the rest of the team. Maybe it looked slightly better in the second half as Madrid settled on 3-1.

Oh so now, I hope people are now seeing how important Bobbie is in our system, yeah? I could have sworn people on here were all over Jota cos of the goals he scores and used that as a measure to say Bobbie should be dropped for him cos he is struggling in front of goal. Oh, how the tables have turned. Ain't it funny?

Whereas for right now, Jota simply cannot do all the other things Bobbie does that as just as crucial in our system as scoring goals like I don't know, pressing the opposing teams DLP or DM to stop the attacks at the source. Oh, the irony.

Thiago was still miles better than Keita, Mark. At least he was able to pass to another player in a red shirt, unlike Keita whose only actual contribution was losing the ball cheaply, making constant mistakes and jogging around the pitch like it was a Sunday league game.

Mark is back again, targeting Thiago again. Oh and for the record, Thiago was miles better than Naby in the game when he came on cos he allowed us to keep possession of the ball much better. And that is not even that much of a low bar cos Naby was absolutely terrible.

can thiago even play back to back 90min games a few days apart? doubt it. he came on and made no impact. in the couple minutes he was on before halftime he gave the ball away in front of our box that who knows, could have led to a goal on another day.

Overall bad performance and application. we played well in the weekend and then turned in a stinker. i think that is about right for a team low in confidence. 2nd leg can be completely different, why not?

I have targeted all of them don’t worry about that olired. Someone tried to say he did ok, but just pointing out he didn’t. They were all as bad as each other.
