I think kabak deserves a lot of credit

He has joined a new league, new language, thrown in at the deep end into the first team. In the middle of a mini crisis.
Teams leaking goals and losing games. Low on confidence, errors all around the park. Yet he hasn't let it fluster him.

Hes done a lot better than many players in his situation would do. Especially at his age.
He has shown signs of a kid who can become a top player. He's shown character that's for sure.

Havertz and Werner, two proven players in the German league have been struggling to adapt to the new league and have been here longer than kabak.
Pulisic is another example, our own Fabinho needed a decent run of games before he came good. Keita is another example.

I think he deserves a lot of credit for how quick he's blended in, and helped the team get its shape back.

And I feel if he maintains his current form he will be signed by klopp. Should he get signed, klopp can make him a top player, challenging Gomez sooner rather than later.

Keita is no example. he has been a rubbish singing for us.

Maybe depends on what payment terms Schalke are prepared to accept?
If they’re favourable, I can see him at Liverpool next season.

I would have him on a free. Wouldn’t pay money for him though. He’s not been very good at all really.

What do you think he is good at Mag.

12 Apr 2021 08:51:20
Mag, I think he deserves credit as well cos no one can deny the horrendous state of affairs he was thrown into was well, horrendous and the kid was drowning or it seemed like it initially.

He did not sulk nor continue drowning. He kept working hard to improve and we are seeing him improved in every hame for weeks now. He is good on the ball, can pass it out of the back with either foot, knows when to clear it and pass it and anyone who can keep pace with Vinicius or Adama is no slouch pace wise in certain situations even tho he is not actually that pacy.

That said, he needs to improve his positional sense and awareness, he is a bit hit or miss in his passing and needs to react quicker to situations BUT he is only 21 so has time to improve and we know he can improve cos he has and the evidence shows that. Does that mean he will be signed? We shall see.

Cant believe people are putting the guy down. he's 21.

Jurgen2020, I wonder what will happen if Jurgen does keep Kabak and let’s Phillips go?

12 Apr 2021 10:51:35
It doesn't mater what Mag thinks Kabak is good at, Klopp obviously sees something in him because he's here and starting every game at the moment.
Bug Mag is spot on, and anyone who thinks a raw 20 year old should come to the Premiership and light the place up in a struggling team in his first couple of games needs to give his head a wobble.

My opinion is that one of Philips and Kabak will be kept in the summer, and my feeling is that it will be Kabak. I would even go as far as to say that if it were not for the extremely tight financial situation, Kabak would have been an outright purchase. I'm not discussing footballing ability here, nor whether he's worth it or not. Just looking at how the club usually operates (is Sahin the only other player the club has brought in on loan since FSG bought the club? Just wondering) .

{Ed077's Note - the legend Steven Caulker??}

12 Apr 2021 11:37:03
Ah yes, had forgotten about him Ed077.

{Ed077's Note - auxiliary striker mate, how could you forget?}

Yeah, the extra-time goal scoring machine for corner kicks 😉.

Part of me agrees with the comments saying it looks like Klopp prefers Kabak over Phillips but then another part of me asks the question why has Klopp chosen to bring Kabak off the last 3 games and not Phillips as that shows he possibly trusts Phillips more. Or has Kabak been cramping up late in games or something along those lines. Only thing I know is it’s going to be an interesting summer the whole time the window is open.

They are 4th and 5th choice centre backs and Klopp is playing them because he has no other choice. Both are trying their best though so deserve our full support. Hopefully they learnt from the first leg in Madrid.

We've had a few on loan under FSG i think. Manquillo, Cissokho, Moses, Sahin, Caulker and Kabak.
