Hahhaa did anyone see John henry apology.
He ditched the suit. Reminded me of tue southpark episode of oil leak.
Did take the blame on himself though.

I’m happy with that apology - it won’t put right what’s wrong with football - oil money, sport washing, too many games, ridiculous use of VAR, idiotic salaries - but I’m glad JH had the balls to say he messed up.

Rant at the owners all you like but Jurgen and the team need our support right now - they did stand up to be counted and good for them that they did.

The energy being spent on hypocritical hand-wringing is certainly a sight to behold.

{Ed001's Note - if you are that naive as to be happy with that, then you deserve to be fleeced.}

Nobody has ‘fleeced’ me Ed, but I have watched as the owners put into place the conditions for a fantastic ride to cups and titles, one of which we had been craving for 30 years. So I don’t have a problem with them too much. Some people have very short memories.

For the Prem to talk about ‘breakaways’ is hypocrisy of the highest order.

{Ed001's Note - if you say so.

As for the Prem, what is the relevance to a snake's pathetic pretence at apologising? Or are you just deflecting as is usual for apologists to try and turn the conversation away from the subject at hand?}

He did it because he had no choice, did you not notice that all of his chosen words are in direct contradiction with all of his actions? He actually had the nerve to say they would ‘never have done it without the fans’, despite the fact that they’d enacted the most disgusting act of selfishness the game has ever seen 48 hours early, an act they did not consult the fans on because they knew what their response would be. He’s a snake of the most venomous kind and we’ve all been hoodwinked into thinking they gave half a toss about us.

This is just a phase of recuperation for them, as they get ready to go again for whatever their next insane proposal will be. £250 tickets a game, tuxedo and top hat formal dress code? Airlift the stadium to China ala the Dome in the Simpsons movie? Sell the naming rights of the entire club, rebrand as Gatorade Soccer Franchise?

The cat is out of the bag and everybody now knows what they are about now. They didn’t back out of the super league out of moral guilt, they backed out because it was no longer a viable proposition due to the amount of teams that had already left. They were prepared to drag the club into the gutter, prepared to do whatever it took to get their way. They took their ball and went home with it, and if that meant the LFC were relegated several tiers down, with all our titles stripped, it didn’t matter. The Super League even released a statement which, to paraphrase, said that they’d be back for round 2 when the fans calmed down! Its his brain child and his idea, who else do you think that comment is meant to represent!

Their position is untenable and if you are seriously taken in by any of what he said, you are a fool. I say its time to take some responsibility and hold ourselves accountable for the state of our game. Now is the time to stop forgiving, to reverse the complicity we have all been so guilty of since 1992. Enough is enough.

Time for FSG to go.

{Ed001's Note - very well said.}

I have mixed feelings about this TBH. FSG have done a fantastic job at this club so far and no-one can deny that. I honestly never thought I'd see us win the league again in my lifetime and they have helped deliver that. Add in that Anfield is now in a much better state and our new training ground looks fantastic then it's hard to go with the FSG out brigade.

Conversely they do seem to have a blind spot when it comes to how the supporters feel about certain things (ESL, C.V. Furlough) and have often misread the strength of public feeling) .

I feel there are potentially worse owners out there - Hicks and Gillet anyone - so am happy for them to stay but they need to get someone in to advise them better about how to not wind up the supporters every 12 months.

ESL was a stinker of an idea but in a world where parts of our fanbase demand the signings of players like Mbappe and Haaland then I can see why clubs chase the money. I don't like it, but I can see how they get involved in the conversation.

what else could he have done?

{Ed0666's Note - He could have said ‘I’m selling Liverpool Football Club because as a commodities dealer my only interest is making as much money as I can and have no regard for the traditions and the rich tapestry of you’re club’

22 Apr 2021 08:15:18
Ed01 but we all know that won’t happen so why dwell on what we know won’t happen? A waste of energy, IMO.

{Ed001's Note - better than sitting on our hands doing f all like you want to. That is why the world is in such a mess. Stand idly by if you want, but that just makes you a part of the problem. All your mouthing about beliefs over the years are being shown as just talk now when it comes down to it. You want to support Liverpool yet you fail to understand what it stands for. It does not stand for meekly surrendering. It does not stand for giving up. We always fight for what matters, no matter if justice takes over 30 years to arrive. If you don't get it, you don't get what it means to be a Liverpool fan. It really is that simple.} Become a Patron!
