Admittedly it is very difficult to lift myself for this game. It feels inevitable that will be beaten by a fitter and more clinical team. I am sure my hopes for a performance and result will return prior to kick off as they always do, but for now it is very difficult.
I felt like the Newcastle game was a watershed for me. I was originally onboard the "we only need 2/ 3 players" bus but am now on the "we need 5/ 6" bus. In addition, I am growing frustrated with the decisions and tactics at times. None of it makes any sense and I hope that a summer break will reset minds. Personally, I would recommend we look to add a coach or two to the backroom for some new ideas and energy. I can say from personal experience, most business teams are feeling fatigued by the last year and in many cases, the summer is an ideal time for freshening things up.
Summer wish - new backup GK, fix the CB situation, replace Gini, Origi, Shaq and one or even two of the famed front 3.
In terms of midfielders- whilst Bissouma is being talked up, but Florian Neuhaus, Houssem Aouar or Ryan Gravenberch are worth a look.
In terms of forwards, there are some interesting ones out there to consider - Donyell Malen, Patson Daka, Amine Gouiri, Jonathan David, Darwin Nunez and Dusan Vlahovic.
Bring on silly season.

Op you tuck the words right out of my mouth mate. Even when we had a terrible team I would always want to watch it but all the mojo had slowly drained out of me. Bring on next season.

I'll gladly be wrong but don't see it. Sooner this abomination of a season is over the better, watching football since the lockdown last March has been seriously depressing. Sooner fans are allowed back in the better.

Longthing76, I am just like you. I am totally drained with the way things have gone this season esp of late. We seem to not be able to get out of our own way no matter how much we try. I bet you, we play well vs Utd and Utd either draw on win the game w/ o having to do that much. Sad but true.

Gonna be only the 4th game I’ve missed in the last few seasons and the 2nd game I’ve missed this season. I’ve got a family commitment which I would normally fight to get out of to watch the football. But the fight has gone out of me this season. Probably the only thing me and the players have in common as it looks like their fight has gone to 🤣.
