Lets stop kidding ourselves regarding wealthy owners being in charge of our football clubs.
Firstly unless a very tempting offer comes across there desk as regards to a buyout they are going nowhere.

Secondly they understand the Psychology of the average football fan who can quickly forget what they are protesting about when a shiny new number 9 gets paraded in front of the press.

Thirdly you don't want to buy a match day ticket or even a season ticket there are plenty people who do, let's get real there will never be a day once fans are let back in that Anfield will be below capacity.

Let me be clear i am not against letting the owners know you are not happy but what we witnessed today at Old Trafford is not the answer, the answer is to cough up £4b and run the club yourself.

Football has got itself into this mess with its never ending thirst for greed, meanwhile iconic football clubs have gone bust never to return.

Dont fool yourself either that we have heard the last of the ESL idea, is it not ironic that the naughty big 6 are all posting record losses, losses that would be offset by joining the league and allowing the owners to buy those superstars all the fans are craving.

As for fans of clubs who were not asked to join, don't kid yourselves if your teams owners were asked they would have eagerly took the chance to swell there bank balances and increased there initial cash investments.

Simply put the day football stopped being a sport and became a business was the day football died.

It is only going to get worse from here not better.

I Do hope i am proven wrong given time but sadly i don't think i will be and i can totally understand those fans who have fallen out of love with the game they were brought up on- all in the name of progress i might add.

Agree7 Disagree0

If protesting made no difference they wouldn’t be trying to ban it.

So basically what you are saying is if you are not a multi billionaire you just need to shut up and keep quiet?

Was looking at the list of most valuable leagues world wide and the NFL MLB AND NBA are worth more than than all the football leagues including UCl. I'm sorry I think it is inevitable that ESL happens. The real money is in tv and streaming now. I have a family of 5 and can't take them to see my Steelers play. But we can watch them together with the rest of the family weekly.

Just like the majority of LFC supporters will never be able to attend a match at Anfield, they will pay to watch them however we can. I would certainly pay to watch them in any comp (already do) .

I am not naive enough to think that sports today is anything but big business.

And I want my teams to win and get the best players. For LFC that means ESL.

No Thunderbird 2 i am not saying that at all, there is a right way and a wrong way of doing things and what we witnessed today was appalling behavior from a handful of utd fans who have dragged the name of Man utd through the mud.

Wealthy ownership is not going away any time soon.
The Premier league and its greed has bought us all to this, oh and let's not forget Uefa's wonderful expansion of its european competitions that is designed to milk more money from the fans of the game.

The game has more potential options than esl or bust . Fans calling for superstar players? No, fans call for success . The players are a major part but as teams have shown innovation, shrewd investment, clear vision with top line infrastructure will have you competing for honours . UEFA needs dealing with as does the FA, but the fans can look to their clubs for the main source of their trouble ( debt, poor recruitment, irresponsible financial dealings, etc) . Harping on about a system that is unfair as the only solution is narrow minded at best . Look at Dortmund as an example of what can be done the right way.

not the protesting they are banning it is the vandals who wreck private and public property.

King Kenny, as football supporters this is the last chance to take back the game we love. As long as protests don’t turn violent I don’t have a problem with any of it.

On that point Thunderbird 2 i 100% agree with you.

I don't understand the joy of 12 teams having the best players in the world. I don't relate to the bragging rights of which club has spent more than the other. The sport is secondary in that scenario because the competitiveness is in the money and transfers and less about what's on the field.
None of it replaces local rivalries, historical grudge matches, FA Cup fairy stories or even local players getting into the side. How much of Liverpool the city will be part of the club when LFC play in a billion dollar super league? The likes of Curtis Jones will soon get replaced by a shiny new Brazilian midfielder. May as well call us the Anfield Tigers or something and be done with it.

{Ed0666's Note - The Anfield Tigers does have a ring to it
