So it looks like city have every chance of winning the CL this year. Brace yourselves for Pep being a genius and foden being the next Messi.

Yes I'm slightly jealous but I can't get on the pep hype when he spends near 500m on the defence, even if it does look like he has finally cracked it!

{Ed0666's Note - And just to think Diaz could have gone to spurs what a waste that would have been.

Agree5 Disagree0

05 May 2021 04:37:34
Not to mention how much he spent on midfield and attack.

05 May 2021 05:02:38
And he has cracked it for them City have won titles under him. A treble would be huge for them but deserved too. City are the best team in the continent this season. My congratulations to them and i hope it inspires our players and our rivalry.
3 titles now, a domestic treble, league cups. He has city on a great level and even though he has spent a lot of money almost all his signings have worked cancelo rodri walker dias laporte, he even has stones doing good. He has got best out of players like mahrez, sterling, foden, gundogan etc.
City have lost their talisman and captain under him yet they haven't slowed down.
Argue as much you want we have matched city on spending just have balanced out cuz we made that huge coutinho sale. We have a wage bill that almost matches city. After somewhat a bad start to the season city pulled out a great streak, i would think that has to be put on the skills of the manager.
We could learn a thing or two from them since i firmly belive we are the only team capable of winning the title from them next season.
For starters put some trust in jones. There is definitely a player on fodens level there. Our team management has to be better.

05 May 2021 06:36:00
Agree with most of what you said but come on now Jones is not on fodens level mate.

05 May 2021 07:13:04
Jones will never be anywhere near Foden's level (he will still be a very good player for us regardless, just not world class level) .
Harvey Elliot on the other hand can be our Phil Foden. Kid's got all the talent in the world.

05 May 2021 07:48:21
Absolute nonsense. How have we spent as much as City? They have £100 million CBs sitting on the bench. We have Gomez, Matip. They bring on Aguero, Sterling and Jesus. We bring on Origi and Shaq. Midfield pretty much the same. £40 million reserve left backs etc etc. Daft statement.

05 May 2021 09:02:33
Makes me sick what they’ve achieved but fair play to them them they have wiped the floor with most their team is lethal! 2 elevens that can go toe 2 toe with anyone!
People will say u can’t sign such n such they won’t sit on the Bench
Well how can city do it are their benches cushioned better?
Wonder how many city players have property in Dubai and Qatar?
Just saying congrats to them tho!

{Ed001's Note - why would they have property in Dubai and Qatar? Talk about an ignorant comment. It was only a few months ago that the UAE and Qatar were pretty much at war. Why do people spread this kind of nonsense?}

05 May 2021 09:43:09
Phil Foden is the best English talent I’ve ever seen. He’s 20 years old and plays like he is one of the most experienced players on the pitch. The way he glides with the ball, without ever looking down is outstanding. Only messi compares and I’m not even exaggerating. Curtis Jones is a good player and could be a class player but Foden is already at the very top at 20 years old for me.

05 May 2021 09:44:59
City do have two squads almost, but fair play to them. They lost Aguero and have really turned it up. Their defense is set for years. At the moment I don't see any team challenging City in the Prem, unless we sort our defence out and can keep our team healthy. Diaz was masterstroke, shame we didn't get him in the summer!

Yes they have spent a lot of money, but it has been money well spent, all their signings have come good and performed pretty well all season. They have built a solid CB unit of Laporte, Stones, Diaz and Ake, hard to think of another team with such depth!

05 May 2021 09:50:47
It’s a lil dig at how are they keeping them happy like giving them property or something. I’m not getting into politics it was tongue n cheek!

05 May 2021 10:26:25
It’s a joke what City can do. All this ‘fair play to them’ I’m not having it. They have bought the trophies they win plain and simple. Anyone who thinks it a fair, level playing field is having a laugh in my opinion.
They buy players for the bench on big money for £50mil while the likes of us go and get Davies for £2mil and Kabak on loan!
Hey look it is what it is but don’t try to tell me it’s fair. It’s far from fair but as we all know football is not an exact science so just spending money doesn’t guarantee success which is why we’ve managed to compete with them over the last 3 years. Good management and good recruitment.
They do have a huge unfair advantage though when they can just cherry pick the best players from around the world.

{Ed002's Note - You need to move on from the jealousy.}

05 May 2021 15:07:20
Some very jealous statements. I think our records suggest we have spent almost similar of what city have spent since 2018. People forget how much we have spent in agent fees alone. Just because we have sold to balance books doesn't mean we haven't spent.
We bought in vvd allison keita ox fab jota and thiago for total of over 350 million plus huge agent fees in last three years alone. And city have spent about the same around 380 million You can fact check it.
Remove your glasses please and avoid jealousy.

{Ed0666's Note - also just because you spend a lot of money doesn’t always equate to success. You still have to train hard, be proffesional, win the games, put in the hard graft, heavy travel schedule, be disciplined etc etc. Man City deserve their success and good luck to them. For me Pep is very palatable and a likeable guy. Not an issue for me if they win the treble.

05 May 2021 15:29:00
City spent circa £270 million alone in 2018, £70 million in 2019 and circa £155 million last summer. How's that for a fact check? Do your maths.

05 May 2021 16:06:04
Nope only laporte mahrez and rodri were big buy in 2018 along with few chips and dips don't know mate how you get to 270 million but you can keep your facts.
Also i didn't include liverpools chips and dips buys only big ones. You can continue with your oh liverpool are poor and can't spend while city can buy the world narrative if that suits you. doesn't change that we have spent bucketload of money to buy success too.

05 May 2021 17:44:29
17/ 18 season Emerson £35 million, Silva £43 million, Douglas Luis £11 million, Walker £45 million, Danillo £26 million, Mendy £52 million, Laporte £57?

05 May 2021 17:45:49
Rodri was purchased in July 2019 not 18.

05 May 2021 19:13:46
Nothing to do with jealousy at all it just is what it is. I actually don’t mind City winning things it’s better than it being Utd or Everton but the facts are the facts and they have an unfair advantage because they have owners who bankroll them. Simple as that. FFP was supposed to stop it but is useless so they continue to do it and why not if they can get away with it?
Let’s not try and pretend they are successful because of great recruitment and a great manager. They have both but it’s only possible because they are bankrolled by an entire country.
They’ve bought success plain and simple but only because they’ve been allowed to.

05 May 2021 19:18:40
Akira you are not making any sense. If you have to sell to balance the books it’s a world away from just spending. Imagine if City had to sell De Bruyne and Aguero to sign Diaz, Ake, Cancelo etc. That makes them a very different team.
The fact that we have to sell to buy rather than just spend to improve the squad is the reason they have a bigger squad than us or any other team.
Think about what you are saying.

{Ed002's Note - You don't get the finances at all. You keep suggesting some clubs are abusing the finances tehy are not. It is getting very embarrassing.}
