Just out of curiosity, which club would be willing to buy Firmino for 40m in this scenario? I can't see any club wanting to pay that amount for him, and I am not sure any clubs are interested in him at all.

I just can’t see a buyer for Ox or Keita this year, hence why not included in the outs. Reckon we will have to stick by them another year. Forgot about Konate! Hope to get £5-6m for Matip as well - can’t see a large fee with his history.

OP, that's 7 players out for 2 to be bought in. So who are the replacements for the 7 (who are mostly backups, aside from Firmino)? Elliott will be a backup. Jones may or may not become a full time player, this coming year. This is not smart squad management. The idea is to build as cohesive a squad of 25 as possible. Not show up at stadiums with squads of 17 or 18.

Wilson and grujic are out on loan and Tsimikas barely makes the match day squad. We don’t need to replace players who aren’t in the 18, we have a massive squad as it is really, especially with youngsters coming through and back from loan.

{Ed0666's Note - we really do have a crazy big squad. We’d do well just to get rid of some of the players and get the wages off the books
