I know you have a long long list of things to do but would love to see a maybe top 10 “almost signings” and a bit of the story about how close it was and why it didn’t go through.

Was the Diego Costa fee agreed back in 2013, Ed? I vaguely remember a lot of strong rumours back then. As good as he was, I am not sure how we would have fit Suarez, Sturridge and Costa into the same attack!

Out of curiosity Ed001. How long is your list? Bet it’s not as long as the one the mrs leaves me every time I take a week off.

Vidic and Sol Campbell. I don't know how close we were to getting them but I know we were heavily linked to them. Laudrup would have been amazing. If old style rumours were to be believed Maradonna once said he would like to play for us or spurs. That could have been amazing or disastrous but it certainly would've been interesting.
