Is it just me or mane had his best game in a while. We saw energy, rubs, ball control, tracking back, dribbling, passing and everything we are us3d to from him.
Salah had a stinker in front of goal though never shot it first time.
Ali also had a great game apart from one mistake.
MoM was philips though he was just so good second half got in between every attack saints managed to put together.

Thiago was man of the match for me. Used the ball brilliantly, often occupied two or three of their players and Southampton couldn’t get near him, some lovely passes and you can tell he is thinking far ahead of anyone else on the pitch. Topped it off with a lovely goal. Would like to see him have a dig more often. We did look better overall for having that extra rest.

Allison was clearly motm for me. Thiago was ok but terrible when trying to defend.

Alisson nearly gifted them a goal which would have undone all the hard work. He should just go route one in those situations. Thankfully it was not a brain fart pass to a better player.

In the main the team played well but still extremely worrying the amount of good chances Southampton had and also the chances we missed. So the defence needs to be a lot better and that will be the case when we get our senior players back but I'm not sure what to do with the front 3. The football to get up the pitch was great, just in and around the box can be a lot better. At 1-0 we are still expecting the usual thing to happen, the opposing team to score. We need to get back to finishing teams off and not have last 15 minute nerves.
Man of the match for me Becker, then Phillips, next Thiago also played well but looked spent in the last 15 but came up with a lovely goal.

I must of watching the wrong match I thought be played woeful! Very sloppy passing to the opposition!
Gini ain’t no captain either!
Becker super saves but this tapping it out from the back crap just clear the lines!
Philips was my motm I really like him he’s old skool no sh1t defender!
Young Williams did well too!
Still think we are struggling to close out games nerves where shot till Thiago scored!
And remember this was Southampton we played no disrespect but they are not exactly pulling up trees!

Naah man he might have missed few passes and some tricks dint work yesterday but this year mane has been non existent. He couldn't dribble, he looked like he lost pace, wasnt scoring of course and his work rate was below par. Yesterday was marked improvement in his game.

He just needs rest which he got and i think he was proper threat yesterday. Entire soto defense was so consumed by his runs salah was given a lot of space but he kept loosing the ball one me one to stephens. Took extra second on the ball everytime but his ball for the goal was a thing of beauty.

I thought Mane looked a lot brighter too.
Personally, I hope all three main front men stay with us.
Get a new forward in support and, with Jota, we’ll be ok next season.
Form is temporary and all that.

Our second half was poor fayre though, didn’t look anything like a CL team.
But 3 points is 3 points, and I’ll take the win.

Thiago could cure world hunger and still get criticised by LFC fans 🤣. Allison was top class but he had one real bad moment where that pass was terrible but it’s clearly an instruction from Klopp for him not to go long and pass out from the back. Phillips had a good game and managed to get himself in positions to block out things. The problem for him though is when he’s not in those positions he doesn’t have the pace to get back into them. Overall 3 points were a must and we got them. Not our best performance but on what we’ve witnessed in 2021 it was one of our better ones.

Spot on Akira Mane was brilliant, full of energy, he's work-rate was top class and had a good chemistry with other forward players. After longtime he looked he's self again trying to make things happen he's agessiveness was back too. Let's hope he carries on only 4 games are left. Was happy for Thiago too scored he's 1st LFC goal.
