Eds do you think if Manè were to leave this summer would PSG be interested? And unlikely i know but if they were could he be used as part of a deal if mbappe decided he's not going to renew?

{Ed002's Note - PSG have no interest in Mane.}

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2021 14:35:24
Shame, i would have thought EVERY team would be interested in a player of Mane's calibre. He'd tear the French league up like Mbappe does. Daydream over then.

{Ed0666's Note - on this form he couldn’t tear a bag of quavers open let alone a weak French league 1

15 May 2021 14:49:00
What happened to form is temporary and all that? 😉"fans"quickly forget.

{Ed014's Note - I’ve been gobsmacked with how Liverpool fans have turned on both players and manager this season.

It’s been jaw droppingly embarrassing if I’m honest.

15 May 2021 15:26:03
I wouldn’t call it like that Ed. Last year we all said the manager and nearly all the players were brilliant. This year we just say the manager and most of the players have been crap, it’s called the truth.

{Ed014's Note - there’s been a lot worse than that said and after all they achieved last year maybe a bit of grace would have been the way to say it rather than out right slaughter them.

15 May 2021 15:29:34
Hard to disagree with that Ed014.

{Ed014's Note - it’s been bad mate and I’ve just been amazed. My wife is a Liverpool supporter and has all the love in the world for them all and knows they’ll be back.

15 May 2021 15:56:28
Same story last year with Adrian. He saved our butts with those first 8-9 games when Alison was out. And helped us get rolling on that run and win the title. And then Atletico came along, he had a bad night, and now he's cow dung in most people's eyes.

15 May 2021 15:49:27
The wife must be your better half then mate 😉.

{Ed014's Note - obviously 🤣

15 May 2021 16:41:13
Grace, Ed014? For the players and manager that got us from a basket case into champions of Everything and of Everywhere? Surely, you jest.

{Ed014's Note - not sure your getting what I meant Oli. What are you thinking I mean?

15 May 2021 16:43:37
I don’t think that’s fair Ed, most of the people being overwhelmingly negative are muppets/ children on the internet, which you get from every club. Most people are exceptionally positive about the situation, far more positive than I am. I don’t know what it is you’ve been reading or where you’ve got this from but most negative discourse has mainly been around our poor finishing, which is a fair criticism that has been valid since the start of last season. I don’t think that being in favour of moving one of the front three on and refreshing the squad with younger players could be considered ‘turning on’ the players and staff.

Also, some of the performances from a small minority of players have definitely been worthy of being hounded out of the club. I don’t think Keita or Origi have broken a sweat all season, Wijnaldum since December certainly hasn’t.

{Ed014's Note - I’m certainly not labelling everyone with that tag AW but there have been some unbelievable posts I’ve put up through the season which showed little or no respect for what your team and manager had just produced over the previous 2 years.

Slating all of your front 3, talking of getting rid of Klopp and just having no thought of what they’d done and achieved mate.

It’s like they were suddenly crap and were a let down, I’ve stuck up for players, the team and manager numerous times this season.

I have little doubt you’ll be back with a bang next year too.

15 May 2021 16:49:38
Agree with Ed014, a lot of wannabe fans not enough actual supporters.

15 May 2021 17:36:01
I am certainly looking forward to next season, we should definitely challenge for the major honours. I admit I give Firmino a really hard time and have done for a couple of seasons. But am always delighted when he brings his A game to the party. That header was a thing of beauty. Trent was brilliant as well.

15 May 2021 18:09:35
Bit of grace? These are very well paid footballers who should be playing well, I can't get no grace in my job, if I don't do my job I'm out the door.

15 May 2021 17:32:03
Fair enough Ed, but I can promise you that in the city itself that type of rhetoric simply doesn’t exist. We have thousands of fantastic and unbelievably dedicated supporters all over the globe, but it must be said that success brings with it a new breed of fair weather ‘fan’ who don’t really have a clue what the club is about. The presence of such fans is definitely felt far more now than it used to be, due to social media and the rise of forums like this one.

Us ‘Legacy fans’ are still going strong though 😉.

{Ed014's Note - great to hear it AW as I didn’t like the thought of people turning on the team and manager they’ve been such a fantastic breath of fresh air mate.

I’ve loved watching it all happen with Mrs 14 whose been going crazy! 🤦‍♂️🤣

15 May 2021 20:01:57
Sorry Ed but nobody has been saying we should get rid of Klopp, that's ridiculous.

{Ed014's Note - no need to be sorry but they sure did

15 May 2021 22:34:36
Theresa huge factor in that we missed the end of the title celebrations. didn't see them lift the club at Anfield. didn't get a parade. So, I think there was a lot of desperation to get it over the line again this year in the hope that we don't have an open top premier league winners parade in the summer of 2021 and become a meme for the nex 25 years.

Another is it's not been about the results as much as the effort of the players with some being diabolical.

Lastly with C.V. and lockdowns weekend football has been essential and running in to some of the football we have been put through has been very hard.

Not a let off but some context. I think if everything had of been normal and none of the above had happened then we wouldn't of reacted as we did.

16 May 2021 00:05:17
When we lost our cbs and had to move our mids in there it was the whole spine of the team gone basically, the whole team was disrupted and im sure all fit and raring to go next season with the fans back will be different, a lot of teams with these setbacks wouldn't have the chance to secure 4th if klopp wasn't the manager.

16 May 2021 06:49:06
THe truth Mark?
haha it's just short-sighted fans being sooky bubbahs lol.

16 May 2021 00:25:26
It winds me up too Ed. We were always going to have a drop off from last season largely because until Watford we were near perfect which no one will ever do again!
Then with no fans, no title celebrations, all 3 first choice CBs out for the season with other players missing at various times too, using midfielders to cover the defence over long periods, personal tragedies and just general fatigue it’s no surprise we are where we are. In fact we’ve done well to still be in with a shot at top 4!
People will say ‘it’s been the same for everyone’ but it really hasn’t. Take Dias, Laporte and Stones out of City’s team for 4 fifths of the season or Maguire, Lindelof and Bailly out of Utd’s and you’ve got a completely different league result.
I do think Klopp persevered with Fabinho at CB for way too long when it was obvious it wasn’t working and it was criminal to put Fabinho and Hendo at CB but with all of the midfielders we have I can see why he thought it was the best option. He just made a mistake he’s human and it was and still is a very difficult situation.
We’ll be back challenging again next season I’m 100% sure of it. Let’s just hope the boys can get us over the line in the next 3 games and with everything that’s happened you’d have to call it a successful result.

{Ed014's Note - 100% agree with you BP, you have it spot on and I’m certain next season will be normal service resumed.
