Everyone knows we need a centre forward in the summer, a real poacher who can get us goals against packed defences, someone who you can depend on to be clinical. It is what we have missed desperately this season (and arguably last), and Origi needs to be upgraded on.

Lots of names have been banded about, such as Daka and Malen, although i’m not sure they’re really what we need, as they play in inferior leagues when chances are in abundance and often on the counter attack against poor defences. Vlahovic is another name who has been thrown out there and he seems much more appealing, as he seems more capable of scoring goals in tight situations and has the height to make use of our exceptional crossers.

But there’s one name that has barely been mentioned, someone who might be available for less this summer than the £50 million required for Vlahovic: Tammy Abraham.

Tall, great heading, composed finisher, an all round great poacher who has very favourable stats in terms of goals per minutes played and xG. He is also proven in the premier league and is surely far less of a risk than a Daka, Malen or the very expensive Vlahovic. Still young and also contributes towards that all important English quota.

Am i being short sighted or is it fair to say that Abraham is good enough to play for Liverpool and is exactly what we need?

{Ed014's Note - Aguero is going cheap 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely no thanks.

Tammy Abraham is about as good as Calvert Lewin, both are rubbish Andy Coles.

{Ed0666's Note - thats the most absurd thing I’ve heard in ages and I’m married. DCL is an exceptional player. I’d love him at Liverpool.

He is not good enough for Chelsea's first team. Why would he be for their rivals? Stats like goals per min don't mean rubbish. We should be aiming much higher.

A fit Aguero at Liverpool for a season or two would be the stuff of legend Ed, but i just can’t be bothered taking on any more injury prone players.

Spending all your energy and focus waiting for a Fowler, Sturridge, Torres or even Keita to come back from injury and save your season is just exhausting and detrimental to the team.

{Ed014's Note - I know the feeling AW having waited on numerous casualties at the Arsenal including the Ox.

Do you think he’s been a waste of money, he was pretty much the same at Arsenal, briefly promise a lot, get injured, take for ever to get over it, come back, show some promise again the bang another injury! 🤦‍♂️

Comparing Tammy to a baller like DCL is comical.

I seem to remember Sturridge not getting a sniff at Chelsea and a fair number of supporters weren’t in favour of him joining, but he was immense (when he was fit) .

Abraham is clearly not a bad player and at Chelsea he’s always going to play second fiddle to whoever is Roman’s latest shiny plaything.

Get him at less than £30m and I reckon he could be a real steal. It’s worth pointing out that under similar amount of games started last season and total played, Abraham scored more goals that DCL, he’s barely played this season and still has as many goals as Werner who has started more than double the amount of games.

17 May 2021 17:32:32
I don’t agree the DCL is an exceptional player at all. He’s decent but Everton and 8th to 15th is about his level.
Tammy Abraham is not as good as DCL and is barely an upgrade on Origi for me.
We have the joint top goal scorer in the league I don’t see any need to buy someone unless they are absolutely right and an upgrade on what we already have. If that’s not available this summer we go again with what we have. They haven’t done that bad for us over the past few seasons.

Remember than Kevin De Bruyne, Daniel Sturrudge, Romelu Lukaku and Mo Salah also couldn't get into Chelsea's team regularly.

Tammy is a decent player. Wouldn't be my pick but he's not bad just because he is the main casualty of Chelsea managers having to justify the Werner and Havertz fees. He'd be an excellent replacement for Origi for example.

I’d take Suarez all day long, won’t expect to play every game, won’t hinder the likes of Elliot and is a winner, the type of player we’ve missed since Gerrard left.

17 May 2021 20:03:56
DCL is a very good player IMO and he can improve further.

17 May 2021 20:47:09
Bissouma and Buendia to open up defenses.

17 May 2021 21:22:02
Adam Armstrong seems to have struck up a good understanding with Harvey Elliot, I would sell Origi and buy him.

17 May 2021 21:32:18
Pegleg you'd take that scumbag who dragged the club through the mud back? Thank god there's some at the club with sense who won't touch horrible little rubbish again.

18 May 2021 07:36:12
Id buy a new keeper and put Alisson up front. Now there's a guy who knows how to find the back of the net.

18 May 2021 07:37:43
People also said that about Salah didn't they?

18 May 2021 10:41:58
MKD, Tammy is not even in the same zipcode as KDB, Studge, Lukaku and Salah who could not make that Chelsea team at the time. The players blocking those guys at the time were Hazard, Lampard, Drogba otherwise, Chelsea legends, man. Your comparison is flawed, mate. If he cannot get into a team ahead of a forever-misfiring Werner (at least for this season) then, what type of player does that make him?
