Harry Kane would be a top signing.

Agree3 Disagree0

17 May 2021 21:26:20
Agreed, he would also cost a fortune.

17 May 2021 21:27:03
Hopefully Levy will sell Kane abroad and not strengthen our rivals!

17 May 2021 21:33:29
Don't really like chinny, could do without more injury prone players anyway.

17 May 2021 21:33:59
My gut feeling is that he will end up at Man Utd.

17 May 2021 21:45:01
I know it’s not Liverpool relates, but where is he going Ed’s? City would be my guess?

🤙.

{Ed002's Note - There is no agreement to move anywhere.}

17 May 2021 21:47:47
Fabulous player, whoever buys him will be getting a top top player.

17 May 2021 22:02:21
Yep agreed, don’t fancy seeing Kane in Manchester.

17 May 2021 22:13:03
Too much money for a guy with glass ankles. Let the mancs have him.

17 May 2021 22:15:29
Glazers be Lookin to keeps the fans happy I think it has Utd all over the signing!
He’s top drawer to be fair I think he wins Utd the league!
Makes me sick the thought!
Hopefully he’s pulling strings on Levy just for more money!
LFC need a poacher wishful thinking!

17 May 2021 22:24:04
I'd say he'll cost more tham Mbappe this summer. wouldn't even be surprised if Levy prices him out of a move.

17 May 2021 22:24:52
Kane will go city as he would prefer to play for guardiola
Aguero leaving

If he does go there it pretty much wraps up the prem!

{Ed0666's Note - don’t be the angel of doom. We have klopp and belief

17 May 2021 22:28:26
Can you imagine Kane on the end of our full backs crosses. No disrespect but will Spurs take ox, Keita, Origi, Matip, Shaqiri and £50m? If he goes to Utd it puts them right in the title race. Not sure he suits City’s style of play.

17 May 2021 22:38:39
When ManU go all out for a man, they usually get him. And Kane is not going to snub his nose at the kind of salary they are willing to pay (remember Sanchez? ) .

{Ed0666's Note - and the glazers will try and pacify the fans with a big statement signing

17 May 2021 23:00:28
Imagine City with Kane.

17 May 2021 23:01:52
I see Man United throwing the kitchen sink at him. Transfer fee, wages the lot and that might be enough to secure his services. They might just want it more than City do. I hope that’s not the case and he goes abroad but can’t see that happening unfortunately.

17 May 2021 23:13:58
Kane would be awful for us. A great striker but he benefits massively from a voluntary blindness from refs that the captain of England seems to be rewarded. Those dangerous 'back into players in the air' that he does a few times a game would get called every time for us and be disastrous to momentum far too often. Can see him going to Chelsea.

17 May 2021 23:14:23
Isit just me who’d rather have Son?

{Ed0666's Note - Son would be unreal at Liverpool with his pace and movement

17 May 2021 23:23:13
I’d have Kane at Liverpool in heartbeat.
He’s a player you hate playing against because of what he does but you’d love to have him on your team. Think he’s grown and added stuff to his game under mourinho. Out and out goal scorer too. But he’s not going to join Liverpool and he’d cost 100 million +

Just hope he doesn’t join another Premier League team.

17 May 2021 23:41:29
PSG would be a good bet.

17 May 2021 23:52:48
All I know is that we are not going to be in the conversation about signing him, so my hope is that whoever he signs for, he goes on a long goalless run and the fee becomes a millstone for both parties.

18 May 2021 05:08:02
As good as Kane is I just don’t see him fitting in here. Not without a major change in style anyway, like selling Salah and Mane and having Kane upfront with Firmino. Plus that means changing the whole midfield and changing the way robbo and Trent play. Not going to happen.
I think he’s going to United if he moves.

18 May 2021 07:02:15
He'd fit in our team like a glove. Firminio spot all day. He does so much than scoring goals the guy. Class player but man u will probably go all out for him.

18 May 2021 07:39:19
Kane just doesn't fit Man Citys transfer policy.
They don't tend to buy top top players forctop top fees. They tend to buy top players and pep turns them in to top top players.
United on the other hand love a record breaking fee i can see them paying 200 mill. But they still won't win the league.

18 May 2021 07:40:51
But would he a get a permit and learn the language?

18 May 2021 07:58:44
Have to agree that I don't think Kane would fit in with our style of play. He's an amazing goal scorer, but appointed out, is injury prone and the sheer about of energy that Klopp asks of his players, would probably exacerbate these issues.

18 May 2021 08:43:14
Think Kane may move to Stamford Bridge.

Would love to have Son at Anfield.

18 May 2021 08:59:02
I think Kane would fit. He's not just a big front man. He has the ability to drop deep as he has many times this season and create space and release son with balls with either foot. Imagine him doing that for Salah. And Kane on the end of trents crosses would be unreal.
Not going to happen obviously but I can't understand people saying he houldnt work in our team.

18 May 2021 09:12:15
I’m not sure about United - Levy still has a bitter taste in his mouth with regards to the Berbatov transfer, when Fergie tapped him up.

18 May 2021 09:37:48
If that's the case drogie no club in world football would deal with klopp or liverpool.

18 May 2021 09:39:22
Is Kane in danger of being over rated here? How does having him make Man United or City league winners immediately? He hasn't won anything with Spurs. Even when he was in a team with Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Dembele, Dier, Alli, Eriksen and Son. Easily a better team than the current United side and not far off the current Liverpool a City teams. Let's not pretend he hasn't played in great teams. He cost Spurs any chance in the Champions against us by playing when he clearly wasn't fit. You can bet your house he forced Poch into that decision too.

Kane is no doubt an excellent player but he is not Messi/ Ronaldo level. He's not even Lewandowski/ Suarez level. Calm down lads. I couldn't care less where he goes and i don't really want the cheating self centred tool at Liverpool either. Remember when he took the league to court to steal a goal from a team mate and swore on his kids life? He's embarrassing as a human. Great player. Probably world class even, but he's not exactly a generational talent. Don't get me started on his glass ankles.

18 May 2021 10:30:37
Not arsed where Kane goes even tho, he is an awesome player. Utd and City are welcome to him and I can only see Utd going for him all the way cos well, they are desperate.

Like Ed0666 said, I would take Son over Kane all day long cos he fits our system a lot better than Kane. He wwould be unreal under Klopp.

18 May 2021 10:56:25
I would love Kane scores goals for fun works hard 13 assists this season. He would add 25+ league goals a season maybe more and if anybody thinks he would not suit are play the are just kidding them selfs I could not think of many forwards that would suit us more.

18 May 2021 11:18:01
Great forward, but he's at his peak, and it would really worry me if my team was paying so much money for someone who's ankle injuries seem to be getting more and more frequent every season.

Better, fitter players with longer careers ahead of them for less money than Kane will go for out there (Haaland being the obvious one)

18 May 2021 11:30:31
I think even with Kane Utd finish below us next season. If he goes to City an already tough task obviously get that bit harder.

18 May 2021 11:39:55
Harry Kane can hardly speak English, imagine him trying to speak Spanish. he's not going abroad is he.

{Ed014's Note - they love a cheating diving prick in Spain so who knows 🤷‍♂️

18 May 2021 12:14:59
I agree Adam, while i do think Kane is arguably the best striker in the world, people never seem to learn year after year that football is never played out on paper!

How many times have we seen big money signings come into clubs, people say reactionary things like ‘thats the league wrapped up’ or ‘they should just go out and spend the money then they have a world class (insert position) for the next ten years’, only for that to be the opposite of what happens?!

Football is a mad sport and after the season we’ve had we should know this better than anyone. When we signed Thiago many of us, rather arrogantly, assumed that the league was done and dusted. Not only did injuries ensure that didn’t happen, but it also revealed plenty more weaknesses in our side and areas that we need to add to.

I actually think a fit Harry Kane would suit us hand in glove, with his excellent link up play and ability to drop deep to play provider, dependable finishing and heading prowess, but he is also very injury prone and whoever buys him will have to juggle that constantly. The problem with spending big on one singular centre forward is that you have to gear your whole team towards them, you become reliant on them, and if they’re injured (which many of them often are) everything quickly falls apart. We experienced this with Torres, United with van Nistelrooy, Bayern against PSG this season, and as Adam rightly points out, exceptionally strong Spurs sides with great players front to back. He couldn’t win them any silverware and don’t think it’s just because they were ‘Spursy’.

Whoever buys Harry Kane this summer, he won’t fix their whole team. I still hold that this City side aren’t as good as they appear right now as the playing field is not level, and that they’ll be in for a big shock next season. It’s also clear to see that United’s issue is not up front, it’s every other area of the team and even the club at large. They won’t win the league under Solskjaer, that i can bet my house on.

No team is perfect no matter how much money you throw at it and i actually think if we stick to our approach of buying younger, hungrier players with less of a high profile then we will surge back to the top. Going into this season with a few new forwards like Elliott, Saka and maybe Daka could make is stronger and healthier than a single marquee signing with a big attitude, big pressure and big wages that upsets the apple cart of our amazing squad. As amazing as Haaland is i can’t imagine a young player from the Bundesliga (a notoriously unpredictable league to buy players from) coming in and earning way more than some of our best players would go down well. It’s goes entirely against the ethos that this side and this club is built on.

Let the rest of them bicker over the big money signings and just stick to what has brought us so much success in the past few years; great scouting, shrewd signings, humble personalities and hard work.

18 May 2021 12:24:07
Kane will go to Chelsea where he will fail to beat Jimmy Greaves’ goal scoring record just like he failed to beat Jimmy Greaves’ goal scoring record at Spurs! Harry had a good go at it but it goes to show you what a genius Greaves was, on poor pitches and facing genuine hard men like Tommy Smith who, as Ed001 told us here, during a match at Anfield, once handed Greaves the dinner menu of the hospital in Liverpool!

18 May 2021 12:28:50
United need more then Kane if they're to put a serious title challenge.

They need CMs, Defense etc before thinking abt winning EPL with cheer leader.

Can't see them spending big on CF when they just gave massive contact to Cavani.

18 May 2021 13:21:03
Hey Ed’s, i know you have previously stated that player + cash deals are very rare. I know we are never part of discussions for players like Harry Kane, but do you think there would be Liverpool players that may interest Spurs in some sort of deal which may bring us into the fold? For example Mane, Keita, the Ox, Origi etc. I’m expecting this to be no chance but thought I’d ask.
Thanks.

{Ed0666's Note - why would spurs take keita, ox and origi? Keita and ox are injury prone and haven’t shown form in a couple of years and if mane were to leave why would he choose spurs they are woeful.

18 May 2021 13:40:22
If Mane leaves Liverpool do you think he will upgrade? I would suggest that spurs are the next level down certainly in England.

{Ed0666's Note - spurs is next level down even if they were in the SPL.

18 May 2021 13:50:38
That’s it 14 don’t hold back 🤣🤣🤣.

18 May 2021 11:54:29
Brilliant 😂 and yet so very true mate.

18 May 2021 16:21:38
If he goes to City, he'd be Citizen Kane.

{Ed0666's Note - Touché Rigsby

18 May 2021 16:49:08
Yeah obviously.

18 May 2021 18:39:45
Interesting to see some call Kane injury prone. Do they hold that same opinion of our beloved skipper Hendo who probably misses more games over a season than him on average.

18 May 2021 20:43:49
You make a good point, JK. Harry has averaged around 5-6 league games more a season since the 2014/ 15 season (when he got a full season at Spurs post breaking through) compared to Hendo over the same period.
