Draw would be the best result for us but how did VAR look at that foul on Werner and not give it. At this point I don’t know what a foul is anymore.

I don’t know but the standard of refereeing from Mike Dean is atrocious. The only thing worse is the standard of Werner’s finishing.

Imo Alonso it was very calculated from Werner to throw himself in the way of his swinging foot and that does not constitute a foul, nor is it a dive either. Something we call in my Logical Theory module the ‘Match of the Day Fallacy’.

We need to reel back on this idea that any contact is a foul and that football is not a contact sport. A foul is a clear and calculated obstruction not any contact on any player ever.

Can’t see Spurs laying a glove of Leicester at the weekend and Villa will have their flip flops on against Chelsea. Relying on results is never the way forward. It’s Thursday football, don’t bank on the owners taking any action to get us back to the top either.

So many people have said that Spurs still have a European place to play for plus Mr Selfish wanting to sign off with the golden boot.

Leicester will at best draw at Spurs, so the ball is definitely in our court.

I'm very confident we will see through these last 2 games and get into the UCL.

Considering the enormity of the game i think Leicester may have just put in one of the worst performances i’ve ever seen. I couldn’t tell you a single thing they did right. To sit back and just let Chelsea batter you and still defend appallingly was a baffling strategy, as it was to play Iheanacho over Vardy whose legs have clearly gone. Can’t remember a single chance they created themselves apart from the Perez one at the end, the odd time they got in the opposition half they just tried to lump it aimlessly to their sole striker.

Utterly embarrassing. Classic Brendan.

Vic the ball is in our court anyway. Win our last 2 and we are almost certain to be in the top 4.
Even if we only win our 2 games by 1 goal each we are on +23 goal difference. Leicester are currently on +20 so will need to beat Spurs by 3 goals to finish above us.
As bad as Spurs have been I can’t see them losing by 3 goals.

Werner did what Lamela did to Virgil at Anfield 3 seasons ago to win a last min pen initiating contact to win a foul. Should never be given. But i've said it before neither side can complain because they both do it. On another note, Madison was SHOCKING tonight. Leicester win or a draw would have been best. Now it goes down to Sunday if we win. Can still lose this on GD to Leicester.

Redflyer I get what you mean comparing it to Virgil. The difference for me is that Virgil pulled out of the challenge and made minimal contact and Lamela threw himself to the floor. Also Lamela was never going to be in control of the ball he merely put his body in front of Virgil to take contact and go down.
The one today was different. Werner put his leg between man and ball and had he not been clattered from behind would’ve been in full control of the ball. Also the defender kicked right through his leg with force. Werner did nothing wrong you are allowed to shield the ball and if your leg is kicked away from you it’s a foul.
To be fair to Mike Dean (which is difficult as he is a shocking referee) he did give exactly the same decision against Mane on Sunday when he shielded the ball and got kicked so at least there’s a little bit of consistency in his decision making.

BP, Werner planted his foot and made no attempt to touch the ball imo. It's unfortunately the way the game has gone. Chelsea were about as bad as PSG the last 20 mins.

No games easy in the PL. that's what makes it so good. Not many teams roll over, even with nothing to play for. Look at Fulham and Brighton last night.

We need two big wins, enough to give us goal difference that Leicester can’t catch up with us, any win takes us above them, a win by 3 or 4 goals tonight and any kind of win against Palace at the weekend will do. Then that takes it out of their hands.
