About Trent.

Unlike many of my fellow reds, I love a summer tournament. I don't have a problem separating the two and while the focus over the last couple of decades has been swinging towards club football, the world cup or Euros still have the ability to get the kid in me excited, we could win.

For me Trent is our best player (Liverpool) what he is able to do is phenomenal. For him to be out of this England squad is gutting. He could have taken us to the next level with one moment of magic.

I'm pleased its only six weeks, it could have been worse. He'll be back for us at the start of next season.

Until the start of next season. C'mon England!

{Ed0666's Note - This post opens up a wider discussion as who is Liverpool’s best player? My vote goes to Mr Salah the thought of him leaving fills me with profound dread.

Salah has been our best player for 3 of the last 4 seasons in my opinion.
Van Dijk also 2 years back.
I would hate to lose Salah over any other team member!

Salah would be incredibly hard to replace. We need to appreciate that he’s a world class player on a par with the likes of Suarez. You don’t score 20 goals every season by chance.

You done it now Ed0666.

Salah is leave lads, he's out the door, gone. You heard it from the Ed! :O.

Salah in his fist season was the best no doubt about it. Then VVD, Hendo and Mane last season were way above Salah. This season Salah is in the mix but he was a mile off his first season. Very few candidates this season I am afraid.
As to who is our best player, VVD by some distance for me. Walks in a world 11.

Salah is a weird one for me. His goal record speaks for itself. But he could be so much better and misses so many chances and often makes poor decisions. I guess that’s the difference between the very good and the greats. But I absolutely want him to stay as he’s one of the best around and he’s playing for us!

Not the end of the world, he would be replaced, no one thought we would get someone as good as suarez and look how that turned out. Not saying he wouldn't leave a big hole but history has shown we always find someone who ends up as good or better.

I'd answer it differently. Salah, Allison, Virgil, Trent and Robbo are unsellable. I'd hate to lose them. Any of the other 6 can be replaced.

{Ed0666's Note - for me Allison, Salah and Trent are in replaceable. VVD can be replaced I know that’s sounds crazy but there’s some cracking centre backs out there who can achieve his levels Pau Toress and Ruben Dias to name two. I’m about to get slaughtered aren’t I?

from what I see of Dias he was nowhere near VVD level and the biggest thing for city this year was Fernandinho back in midfield. As for being irreplaceable we replaced Dalglish so none of them are, Salah’s goal record in class but apart from his first season he has missed to many chances and all of are forwards missed to many chances this season and it put us in the position where we was really struggling to get top 4 this season and as good as are run was in the last 11 games it was awful to watch in most of the games my nails have still not grown back, and Leicester and Chelsea should not have let us back in.

1) Salah
2) VvD
3) Trent
4) Fabinho/ Allison can't really decide.
6) Robbo

All of the above are some of the best in the world in their positions.

Fabinho is a shout for most important player. Summed up this season.

obviously every player is replaceabale however, it is the impact of said player that would be hard to replace esp. in the short term. As for Dias, he is no VVD like Grino75, IMO. Dias came into a team that was already the best and most expensive squad in the country that had already had 150m spent on players in his position. His impact on City is NOT at VVD's level in terms of impact cos the team he cae into could not defend a set piece.

Klopp built the team as a whole, around VVD and took us from also -rans to actually Champions of Everywhere. With Di.
