Hello eds, have a curious one for you if you have any insight, would be great to get an answer.
I spotted a post a couple weeks back in another forum, from a guy saying that Liverpool's brutal run of injuries was under the same phsyio that had previously worked at Arsenal, at the time he was their they had the worst run of injuries in the league at that time also, he supposedly has a history of this at clubs.
Does this hold any water to you guys?

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - it has certainly been known, many times over. Newcastle were suffering badly with injuries and, after trying all kinds of changes to the training ground, eventually cleared out the physio dept. Their injuries cleared up and we hired the staff they sacked and suddenly had a spate of injury problems. If a physio misdiagnoses an injury then it can cause serious problems and it does happen a lot as it is a difficult job. I must have missed us taking on that physio, but it would be a worry taking any of Arsenal's medical staff from recent years as they have had a lot of injury problems that could easily have been avoided.}

Thanks Ed01 appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

Ed01, it would be in fact, profession malpractice on the cub's part if we indeed hired a medical team that got fired for their incompetence at another club. I know correlation is not necessarily causation BUT this is very concerning if indeed, this is true.

Just had a look at our physio staff, only one worked with Arsenal but had previously worked for LFC for 10 years before going to Palace and then Arsenal four years ago and then returned to us in 2020.

Chris Morgan is the man, Gerrard said he was good with him but beyond that injuries seem to follow him. Arsenal had awful injury problems with him then got rid in the summer and they had the fewest in the league this season. Andy Massey a physio we got rid of said on twitter “It’s about luck is it” when a journalist said we’d been unlucky with injuries. Jose Luis Prada another we let go said in response to a tweet about us having injuries following these changes “Investment in medical department is better than a 60m loss in player value due to injuries”.

Pretty damning that he returns in 2020 and basically the proverbial hits the fan from then on.

No one can blame him for VVD and Thiago’s injuries and that’s where is all started to go wrong.

None of our players ever seemed to get injured and then all of a sudden they all got injured at once, it is certainly a worrying development.

However, context is important. Three of the biggest injuries in our squad, van Dijk, Thiago and Jota were all impact injuries from horror challenges. Gomez was played into the red and worked too hard by the England coaches and made his knee explode, no surprises there. As for Matip, Henderson and the various niggles we’ve had throughout the season, i have no answer. Maybe there is an issue there that must be addressed.

What Mark08 said.

Chris Morgan is NOT in charge of rehabilitation. That falls under Dr Andreas Schlumberger and the physio (ex-player) Richie Partridge.

Also, Andreas Kornmayer is head of fitness and conditioning. He never had any particular problems at Bayern.

{Ed001's Note - he is very good at his job. As is Partridge.}

Exactly, Ed001 mate. We've just been very unlucky this year with impact injuries piling on the issues that were caused by C.V. to the length of the off-season.
