In fairness Mark, United didn’t have all their first choice central defenders out injured for most of the season. Imagine they’d have finished a lot lower if they were relying on Phil Jones and some kid from the under 23’s.

Mark, so Utd finished above us. So what? Does that suddenly mean they don’t have poor players? Even many of their own fans think MacTominay, Fred, AWB, Dan Janes, Fred etc are awful. To me, MacTominay is a trier at best, that’s it full stop. And yes, they believe we are miles ahead of them when both squads are healthy. The proof is there judging by the past three seasons before this one.

Man Utd didn't have the bad run we had and fully deserved to be 2nd.

I did a little analysis of the 3 3rds of the season and actually we were in champions-form for first 3rd and final 3rd of the season.

I think Klopp has already admitted he made a mistake around Jan/ Feb in not trusting the less experienced CBs earlier. If he had, and importantly had Fab and Hendo in midfield (when available) we would have been there or there abouts with City/ United.

So I'm pretty confident going into next year.

I actually wouldn't completely discount Man Utd, I think they will have a good run at it. City are clearly the team to beat and I think Chelsea will make up the other team in the Top 4.

Still think we'll win!

No mate. would take Mount and Kante from them and that's about it, Tuchel bored his way to the Champions League. Fair play i suppose but cudn watch this 5 at the back rubbish every week.

I am very confident about next year. But it’s annoying posters constantly slagging off other teams/ players we have enough of our own problems to deal with. It’s the same MCtominay who have ran all over Hendo and Gini 2 years ago and stopped us winning the league. People have some class.

I think if us and Chelsea get our acts together it’s a three way fight between ourselves and City. United are easily top four but a centre back, a centre midfielder and a centre forward away from challenging.

BB I do it just to not follow the crowd. If 10 posters say Firmino is the glue etc then I have to politely disagree. Same when people say Thiago had a good season he certainly didn’t IMO but I always say he will be better next season. I think we will definitely challenge next season but that will be because most of our players will have far better seasons. I keep my opinions on other sides to myself because a lot of the time it will come back and bite them. Posters can slag off other teams all they want it’s just not for me.

I'm with you there Ed0666, not dissimilar to Rafa's feat where he had (mainly) the players left to him by Ged - was it only Alonso who was a Rafa buy in the final?

I've got a few Chelsea mates who are usually very, very critical of the team and they're pretty happy with Tuchel's start. Not the most exciting football, but you want to build from the back (unless you like Heavy metal Football! )

Chelsea could be fire next season. they have nearly all the aces in their hands now. If Timo and Haverts improve their game, they'll be stiff competition for an older Liverpool side and a newer city team. On another note, £5 on Ole getting chucked after 15 games next season. Theres a criteria for working out the second best team in the league and it involves playing 38 games and seeing how many points are won at the end. If you are saying Uniteds current team and manager are poor then, this season, we were worse.
