Patson Daka is off to Leicester (tweeted by Romano) . Seems to imply that us, Chelsea or Leipzig didn't bid for him, but its not clear.

Interestingly resurrecting the story about Adam Hlozek. I hadn't heard of Hlozek until the rumours started about us being interested a few weeks back. He was picked out in BBC Sports 20 young players to watch at Euro 2020. West Ham also appear interested in him.

And then we have Donyell Malen (who I thought was very unselfish yesterday in his assist - I could see Bobby doing the same! ) . A bit older than Hlozek and the Dutch league is a step up from the Czech league (albeit still a fair step down from the EPL) .

Hlozek and Malen are not reported to be that different on price - £20m vs £25-£27m.

I wonder if we'll end up with one of these two or someone completely different? Edwards smokescreen anyone?!

I think Malen appears to be the most likely, both local papers in Holland and one of the Sky Germany journalists have reported that he Liverpool are expected to make a bid, probably after the Euro’s and after we’ve shipped out a few players like Origi and Shaqiri.

I’d be quite happy with Malen. Think he’d add a different dynamic as he’s more ‘skill full’ than the other forwards at our disposal. Under Klopp his end product will improve too. Him and Jota would provide very good competition for a starting spot add Harvey Elliott into that and that a good back up 3 to the first choice front 3.

Add Neuhaus as well and for that’s a very good transfer window. Adding 3 good quality younger players that have the quality to push for starting places.

I’ve been quilts in the past of being unrealistic in terms of players I’d want us to sign and the number of players I’d want us to sign. But a transfer window of Konate, Neuhaus and Malen would be very good.

Wouldn’t mind seeing another versatile CM/ CAM sign (courinho mould) to add extra depth to the midfield and attacking options. But only if the funds are there, I know they’re tight.

Yeah no doubt his end product is good at the moment, his G/ A ratio looks good. But it is in the Dutch league. If he was able to reproduce similar numbers from the get go (should we sign him) then wow.

Either way his end product and all round game will improve massively under Klopp. Hopefully we sign him because he has a very very bright future.

Suarez and van nistelrooy came from the Dutch league to England and did alright.

gmil, I was just thinking about who came from the Dutch league to us. Of the ones I can remember, we've got a 2/ 3 strike rate - Kuyt and Suarez were pluses, Babel never fulfilled his potential, albeit did shine pretty bright now and again.
