Ed001, I just read your player review on Luka Jovic. With what you write, would he be a good fit for LFC? I know we have shown no interest, but I remember him tipped to be one of the best, and since he moved to Madrid, seems to have vanished.

{Ed001's Note - no mate, he has lost his way.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Shame really, cheers Ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome stuie.}

Couldn’t see the fuss, he had one hot streak in Germany and Madrid spunked a fortune, madness.

Worth noting some of the other players who have had similar hot streaks in the Bundesliga, such as Haller and Werner and both have been absolutely rubbish in England, Keita looked like the next Iniesta in Germany as well. Makes you wonder whether spending all that money on Haaland and Sancho will be such a good idea after all👀.

Parallels with how Andy Carroll's early career went. Good season. Big move. Bad attitude. Unfulfilled potential.

Difference with Haaland is that you can see he is world class by the eye and not looking at stats. His champions league and international record are also ridiculous.

That’s why you have to allow players to perform over a decent amount of time before deciding whether to pull the trigger on signing them.

Some players seem to take to some leagues and sides like duck to water and then some massively struggle. You could make an endless list of players to back this up. British players are always overhyped but they are probably the lowest nationality that play their football away from their shores. I’m sure If some of the so called British legends had tried their luck in Spain or Italy etc then they might have been thought of as overhyped or flops as well.

JK23, this is why I like the fact that Paul since moved to the ten best league in the world at the time meaning, the Serie A. Same with David Platt. They went there and proved themselves to be the real deal, not just overhyped British players. I wish that happened a lot more cos England have some good players who can actually hack it overseas like Bellingham and to some not others, Sancho.
