Another disappointing performance by Spain. They don't seem to have much threat up front. The drop off in quality seems to be high after their dominance. Germany and France went through similar periods and came back strong. Or as I'm hoping maybe Spain are just starting slow and will be better as the tournament progresses, assuming they get through of course.

The current Spanish squad isn't a patch on the one that dominated a few years ago. Still a good group of players but they used to have a world class player in every position pretty much.

I thought adding Laporte would be a big piece in the jigsaw to use a tired old cliche but it seems the problem is at the other end. I didn't see anything of Fati from Barcelona but read a lot of hype. Maybe Enrique thought he was a bit young.

I don’t get how Morata keeps getting games. He’s awful, it’s actually incredible to think how much has been spent on him considering how poor he is.

Spain lack fire power up-front, you can dominate as much as you want, at the end of the day if you can't put ball in the net then you won't win much.

Fati did his ACL towards the end of the season, had he not he would almost certainly be starting. Morata has to be one of the biggest frauds in modern football, at least Anelka had ability to justify his transfers but Morata just seems to get banded around all the major European clubs despite showing nothing to justify it! Possibly the wettest, most unconfident looking striker i've ever seen. His agent must be the best in the game.

Spain have issues not just in attack but in defence as well. Playing Valverde (an AM) at RB is not ideal as he is not defensively sound enuff, IMO. Yeah they may dominate possession but they don’t press well out of possession and their CB’s are not that good in the air. Must do better.
