Daka has supposedly turned us down due to worries about how much playing time he would see, no doubt the way Tsimikas has been handled the last year crossed his mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

No worries

Next please.

We don’t want a player or players who are worried about playing time if your good enough u play end of!

21 Jun 2021 11:05:51
what do you mean by handled? I think Tsimikas had a bit of misfortune with his injuries, and then faced the impossible task of trying to replace Andrew Robertson in the starting 11 (who is someone who rarely gets injured) . I would hardly say that Tsimikas has been handled poorly by the club.

Red Sandman.

Robbo went through a patch of bring absolutely exhausted, we didn't see much of anything of tsimikas coming in to give him a break.
You wouldn't get to that point either if klopp showed little trust in tsimikas and gave him some game time, I think he has had a rough deal was playing great football before he joined us.

I think it’s more just a case of he knows he will be replacing Jamie Vardy and he is going to be the (almost) guaranteed main man for Leicester, a very good side, whereas Liverpool he would have to fight for his place and possibly not get played enough. Surprised he turned down West Ham for the same reasons though, given the only striker they have is Antonio whose hammys are made of biscuits. It was from Zambian Football who told us a week ago he was imminently signing for Liverpool over the coming days so take it with a pinch of salt :)

If you're good enough you will get game time. If not, you won't. The PL isn't a training ground. If Daka wants guaranteed game time, join Everton. You want to win trophies and prove if you've got it? He knows what to do.

{Ed025's Note - but its how you come to that conclusion IR, do you give him 1 game and if he makes a mistake put him in the garbage?, im not saying its easy but if you dont give the kids a bit of time and show some patience...you might as well scrap the academy mate..

I think he's correct to ask look how mini was treated and then after a run in the saints team how much he improved. Every player needs a run of games to get match sharp and used to how players work around them.

21 Jun 2021 13:41:56
You could look at this another way. You’re saying these players need time to prove themselves, well you don’t get that luxury in the premier league. If you’re on the pitch you have to perform, end of.
What Klopp is very good at though is not throwing players in at the deep end when they’re not ready no matter how much fans and media are clambering for them to get game time.
Perhaps that’s what he’s doing with Tsimikas and Taki?
Just because they are not playing now doesn’t mean they won’t as we saw with Robbo and Fabinho who started slowly but became integral to the team.
There’s no patience in football anymore.

Surely Leicester will be just as hard to break into the first team? They have Vardy, Iheanacho and I thought they were also signing Eduord from Celtic?

21 Jun 2021 14:43:18
How much Mini improved? were we watching the same player?

21 Jun 2021 15:23:16
Cobra, the article (I guess in the Echo but sourced elsewhere? ) says they moved on to Daka when Edourd was a no-go for them.

{Ed0666's Note - I wouldn’t worry Liverpool will have other targets. There is always a list for any particular position.

21 Jun 2021 16:05:37
As long as we don't pick the 3rrd/ 4th choice option, Ed0666, as that didn't work out particularly well in the past did it ;-)

{Ed0666's Note - yep I hear you. Naby was a first choice target and look how that worked out. Sometimes missing out is a blessing in disguise
