PSG picking up Gini is one of the transfers of the summer!

Agree5 Disagree0

100%. They could actually win the champions league with him. He is def one poch can work with.

21 Jun 2021 19:18:36
You're wrong. he's terrible. Have you never been on this site before Jadon? Nevermind that he plays a completely different role for the Dutch.

21 Jun 2021 19:35:13
Bloke can play any role in midfield, to a high level and is always fit! A super signing on a free for PSG.

21 Jun 2021 19:48:41
He is not terrible but he is far from great either. Wait till Holland play a couple of decent teams then we will see how Gini gets on.
He is a good free signing though and will improve PSG a bit.

21 Jun 2021 19:52:27
Gini's got on alright against the best sides in the world in his time with us Mark. The guy is top drawer.

21 Jun 2021 20:00:36
He’s certainly playing extremely well for Holland, and has a real aura of leadership within the team. They all appear very happy and to be enjoying their football and seem to reflect Gini’s personality.
He’ll be difficult to replace but, as ever in football and life, nothing stays the same and his replacement/ s provide an opportunity to improve.

21 Jun 2021 20:35:18
Because he played well today? Gini was invisible the last year for us and part of the reason we played shocking. By your token post we should bid for that Shaqiri fella he had a blinder yesterday.

21 Jun 2021 21:03:15
Great signing will do great for PSG!

In a farmers league!

21 Jun 2021 21:10:30
Wijnaldum has played well in all 3 games so far IPC, he’d probably be in the team of the tournament at this point.
Whereas Shaqiri has had about 3 decent games for Liverpool over his entire club career, full stop.
You could almost have shed the wages of two or three squad players and just given Wijnaldum an improved contract in the first place?

21 Jun 2021 21:16:42
Nothing to do with today, i've made my feelings clear on losing Gini for nothing for a while now. don't agree with it, will be fit for years the guys never had an injury. He's been good enough for the best L'pool side in 30 years for a few seasons now, he has proven himself, whether he's had the best last few months or not.

21 Jun 2021 22:23:24
very under-rated, even on here. I'll miss him, but right or wrong it's best he move on if he and the club couldn't come to an agreement.

21 Jun 2021 22:56:00
Gini is an excellent player. He isn't the Dutch captain for nothing. He's played a large part in the club's recent run of trophies and the sad thing is that many fans just don't appreciate how large a part he played in it. He will be hugely missed, no mistaking that.
But as one door closes, another one opens and somebody else gets a chance to grab some glory.

21 Jun 2021 20:23:21
I wouldn’t say Gini can play every role in midfield as he’s can’t play midfield anchor like Fab or Henderson. But he’s a very good number 8 or 10.

21 Jun 2021 20:28:41
Far from great? You’re having a laugh! Tell me if he’s that poor why were Barcelona and Bayern both interested before he finally signed for PSG. How many of our other midfielders are they interested in apart from probably Thiago you know all the ones we hear on a weekly basis that are world class!

21 Jun 2021 20:44:28
That is true actually Jadon for a couple of seasons he performed better against the top sides. My issue with Gini was his passing it was very very average and slowed our game down against the so called low block. I never remember Gini breaking down defensive teams, which is half the life of a Liverpool player.

22 Jun 2021 10:05:02
He has played there though Victor, and did a good job of doing so aswell.

22 Jun 2021 10:36:15
And the debate rages on.

In the year we had 5 or 6 players in the running for the Ballon D'Or, Gini was one of them. He got the armband (and vice captaincy) for Holland because of what he did at LFC. Many of the top teams in Europe wanted him (even granting he was on a free) . Obviously the rest of Europe has seen something, and they can't all be wrong.

Oh, and he was pretty much a nailed on starter for us under Klopp. So obviously Klopp saw something.

I'll be the the first guy to say he disappeared in games from time to time coz I think he did. And he played safe far too often for my liking. But he was a huge part of our success these last few years, and I think we will miss him.

22 Jun 2021 11:57:00
The last year let him down, he is replaceable, he isn't a Alisson, Trent, Robbo, Van Dijk, Fabinho or Salah, he played because he was very fit, he didn't use his full potential for us and i think he was too negative for 80 minutes a game, he would show glimpses then return into his shell, like Heskey, had all the promise but never used his gifts constantly.
