Hi Eds,

Wondering what you're take on the Liverpool Echo is. In the past they seemed fairly reliable when it came to dealings at the club, but recently a lot of the news they've put out contradict many other reporters and journalists, ie; Klopp is happy with his options, no plans to sign a gini replacement. Don't know who to trust when it comes to these rumors anymore.

I have never lived in Liverpool so I couldn’t tell you how The Echo used to be, but it is now unquestionably a tabloid like any other.
Specifically in terms of transfers, The Echo turn out to be wrong on nearly every single occasion now. Last summer you had the likes of Gorst reporting that the Thiago transfer was “rooted in fantasy”. They also had no idea about Konate nor Jota.

The Echo has lost nearly all reliability since James Pearce has left them.

I wonder if the decline could be traced back to when Trinity (who publish the Echo) merged with Mirror Group to create Trinity Mirror (now Reach plc) .

As the websites and the content are virtually identical between The Mirror and The Echo.

The echo is a horrible paper extremely probe to click baiting and keyword stuffing. Avoid.
