£21.5m brought in through sales so far
Shaqiri £12m soon
Wilson £10m soon
Neco Williams £8m maybe
Phillips £15m Brighton imminent
Origi £10m maybe

So potentially £76.5m from sales and the saving on wages
How should we spend it?
For me I would love Saul but his wages would be high, so I would go with Bissouma for the reported £40m and Malen as the forward £35m.

Agree1 Disagree0

Take some 25 million odd for payment to Jota and Thiago
Add 35 million for konate.60M gone.

Both bissouma and malen are unproven with just one good season under the belt. Saul on the other hand is just a far experienced and better player.

We also missed the boat on two zambians leicester signed. They would have solved a lot of similar issues for us and at a fair price compared to bissouma and malen

I just cannot rate bissouma at 50 million. We cannot risk that amount of money. 50 million should be spent on a player that walks in to the team day1.
We would loose the title on day 1 if city sign saul that's how good the player is. If united get him they improve their midfield 10x right away. That is serious quality.
Yes bissouma can do a job but at almost the similar price it has to be saul.
As for wages milner will be gone next year and we are offloading a good chunk of players this season. I think we can pay him what we are paying thiago if he is ready for that.
Elliot jones and ox will cover the winger / forward / attacker spot for me.
We should lure out of saul and put agent thiago at work.
Midefield of saul thiago backed by fabs🤩🤩🤩 i drool.

Pay Mbappe's wages for two seasons when he signs on a free next summer. 👌.

I'm probably alone in this, but i'm not keen on Malen. I don't remember ever seeing him play at club level and he looked bang average at the Euros.

I'm also not sure the quality of the Dutch league is that high right now as Dusan Tadic looks like Lionel Messi.

Being serious for a sec, Eds - are the club "trying to raise £60-70m" (Echo) funds for a known specific reason or is it a change in policy? For players or to plug a whole following C.V., stadium development? Seems they are more motivated than previously to sell players.

{Ed002's Note - The club has to work within FFP andraise funds to be sustainable and afford transfers.}

Akira, Bissouma is unproven after one good season! Speak for yourself, bro. Bissouma is going into his 4th season the the PL already so he IS proven and well known. If not, why do you think we are after him? You think Edwards and his gurus sign players after one good season? Again, speak for yourself. I do agree that he is not worth 50m and we should prolly look elsewhere. Saul? One can only dream.

As for Malen, if the club thinks he is good enuff then it must mean in their eyes, he is proven enuff to make the step up. Every transfer is a risk so if the club think Malen is the guy then I will support that all the way.

Completely understandable MK but the way i see it is that if Michael Zorc AND Michael Edwards see something there then he’s probably quite good! How many times have we actually seen Dortmund get it wrong when they decide to spend a healthy amount on a player?

22 Jul 2021 10:34:30
Oli 90 percent of people didn't knew who bissouma was before this season, myself included.
Also i haven't heard or read anywhere that Edward and co have made a move for on bissouma.
Also am pretty sure 90 percent don't follow brighton either to tell better.
My reason is simple bissouma isn't worth 50 millions and he isn't as good a player as saul.

22 Jul 2021 12:01:29
You don’t know if he is as good or not. Bissouma needs to play for a top team then we can judge.

22 Jul 2021 12:27:18
Speak for yourself Akira. I remember Brighton signing him under Hughton and it was for a healthy amount for a young kid, certainly by Brighton standards.

Why not just say the truth, which is that you haven’t seen him play very much so don’t have an informed opinion?

22 Jul 2021 14:03:35
I did say that! But he is still not worth 50 million however good he might be.

{Ed001's Note - how can you say that with no knowledge of the player? Bissouma would be an excellent signing.}

22 Jul 2021 15:51:46
Shaq, This is what Harry used to do a lot in the past. think Akira said so BUT he said so in not so many words, lol. As for him saying 90% of fans on here don’t know who Bissouma was before this past season, don’t follow Brighton and that he had read nowhere that Edwards wanted to sign him (not true cos we have been talking Bissouma on here weeks before the season ended) and the “I don’t care how good he is, he isn’t worth 50m (w/ o ever watching the player) ”, is just him projecting. People who speak in absolutes often project their ways of thinking onto others.

Akira knows Saul so he must be top signing whereas Bissouma who he has no idea about, must be a bad signing just cos he has not seen him play. Not too hard to figure out.
