Seeing reports that Juve are pursuing a deal for Gabriel Jesus for £45m and that Arsenal are will to accept offers in the region of £15m for Lacazette.
I would take Jesus in a heartbeat to challenge our front three for £45m I think he is quality, and has been challenging Aguero, Sterling etc at City for 3 or more seasons now.
Lacazette is also a quality finisher, l as agile than Jesus maybe and older, but for £15m a definite upgrade on Origi
Any thoughts Ed’s or posters.

{Ed0666's Note - lacazette is quality I agree. I think he’d be very good for us wouldn’t break the bank and a proven goal scorer in the prem. Similar movement to Bobby also so would be a great sub for Bobby.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to refresh the team with younger players so Laca is a no go.
Jesus struggles with finishing chances, so why would we want him?
There are players who are better suited to what we need out there in the market.

Gabriel Jesus - like you say, he’s had 3 years at City and not done enough to convince Pep he can take the Aguero mantle. So much so, that Pep opted for the like of Torres as Striker when he’s naturally a winger.

Bobby will quite often find himself as a sub next season already.

If we can't afford someone like Raphinha who is very good and will keep getting better then Lacazette would make more sense than Bowen, Traore, Sarr, etc in my opinion.

Better player and would be a stop gap for a few years - it would buy us time without breaking the bank.

Gabriel Jesus would definitely be in my reckoning but not sure he d be happy to be on the bench. Also I have a feeling City would be reluctant sellers to us.

I’d love us to sign a forward who can consistently pass a ball 10 yards - that would be a start in improving our attacking options.

If we were to sign Jesus I’ve heard Fowler is coming out of retirement. Quadruple is ours next season then with God and Jesus up top.

{Ed025's Note - if city get kane and grealish you will need more than them 2 JK..

Lets take Suarez then. Natural goal scoree.

Ed0025 on paper those two signings could wrap up the league for City I agree. But on paper it’s a lot different to the pitch. Kane has been fantastic in the league for many years and Grealish was last season but both are used to being the main men in their teams where everything goes through them and City are a unique beast where every player seems to be just as key a cog in the machine. Also both are used to starting every game and never being benched or subbed off. I’m not saying if it happened either signing would not work but there’s no guarantee that they would work either. Both could be fantastic signings but both could also have their noses put out or not be adapted to Peps style.
Looking at 260-300 million on 2 players that the only trophy they have won between them is a championship play off final.

{Ed025's Note - thats a good point JK mate..

Kane and Grealish gets this City side back up to the level they were at with Aguero and Sane. I don’t think this City side unchanged wins the league this season and had last season been a ceteris paribus then i don’t think City would have beat us to the league then either. But they still haven’t completed their business and nor have we, so until that window slams shut we aren’t really going to know who’s squad is best placed to win the league. Surely we’ve all seen enough football in our lives to know better than declaring winners in sodding July.

{Ed025's Note - but city won by 12 points last season AW, and if most of them teams you played at the back end had not rolled over it could have been a lot more mate, so its city,s to lose imo mate..
