Consensus appears to be that we'll bring in two players - a midfielder and a forward - before the window closes. I'd be happy with that.
Clearly at least 2 of Shaq, Origi and Taki will have to move on to make room.
I also assume that Ben Davies and Ox will stay for HG quota purposes but Phillips will be allowed to move on.
Therefore we will need one more HG in to register a squad of 25.
Given that top quality HG players will come at a premium and we are not liquid I wonder whether we end up bringing in a very cheap (or even Bosman) HG right-back in as well and let Neco go out on loan.
That way we can bring in non-HG players into the midfield and forward squad positions.
I have to admit that re-signing Adrian is a curious one. I would have thought that the 3rd choice keeper spot is ideal for a HG player into his final years. Curious.

Or just go with a smaller squad, players that wouldn't count yet age-wise like Jones, Neco and Elliott will get plenty of games this year.

I thought that until I looked at it in a bit more detail. If my maths is right and we went with 21 + kids we'd have to move on 3 more senior players on as it would be impossible to register them.
Assuming Phillips, Shaq and Origi are moved on, squad would be something like this:
Alisson Kelleher Adrian Trent Robbo
Virgil Gomez Matip Konate Davies
Tsimikas Henderson Fabinho Thiago Keita
Ox Milner Salah Mane Firmino
Taki Jota *new_mid *new_forward
That is 24 seniors. We'd have to move 3 more on to register 21.
Either way I don't think we'd have given Adrian a new contract if we intend to register 21. I'll take that as a sign that we intend to register 25.

You are more confident than me Fly that 2 will arrive mate. We clearly need to sell to raise funds and even then it’s not looking likely as time is against us with the season being only weeks away. We clearly have wrong procedures in place with our financial structure as Ed002 has eluded to for a long time. Elliot, Jones, Keita and Jones will be used more imo and can all be like new signings.

According to Carl Markham we are done. Yet Melissa Reddy says we are "actively looking to add to the squad". Both write for the same paper over there so whichever you choose to believe is up to you.

Drogie I think our midfield suffered due to our CB issues. Hopefully that has been resolved with returners and Konate so our midfield will be stronger. I’d rather spend bigger on a goal scoring forward if it was a choice. I’ll trust Klopp either way.
