For such a crap player Adama Traore sure does be of interest to some great coaches. Bielsa now looking at him. Its almost as if they think they could work with and coach the player to make more out of his obvious assets of pace and power.

Traore is not a crap player, do crap players make the Spain squad?

31 Jul 2021 11:21:25
If he’s fool enough to spend £30m+ on a forward who doesn’t score goals that’s his look out.

31 Jul 2021 11:48:38
Bielsa a fool? klopp too?

31 Jul 2021 11:48:55
When you think about it though, he’s probably the best Impact sub in the world. But nowhere near good enough to start. I imagine Klopp or Bielsa would make him a much better player.
I wouldn’t want him coming on against us for a top team after 80 minutes in the champions league at 0-0.

pace, direct, can shoot and put a cross in.

has some good tools that can be shaped into a fantastic player, especially if he is dedicated.

31 Jul 2021 12:44:22
Am not sure he can shoot, he make Firmino look composed in front of goal.

31 Jul 2021 13:19:17
In fairness to Traore he lost Jimenez and Jota last season so that might have played a big part on his stats being low as it stifled Wolves massively going forward. The season before I think he got 9 assists and 4 goals. Not saying we should sign him but before we beat him with a stick from the comfort of our keyboard it’s always good to have the full story.

31 Jul 2021 13:41:00
The evidence suggests very strongly that he can’t shoot or cross a ball. 2 goals and 2 assists last year point to a a player with no end product. He is at best a “hit and hope” player who just puts his foot through the ball with no idea where it’s likely to go with no finesse or subtlety. If the argument is that he needs a target man for his crosses, then he’d definitely be a failure, as we have no centre forwards of that type here.

I can’t even see him as an impact player, if you stick him on in the last 10 minutes against a team parking then bus, all he’ll do is run into a crowd and lose the ball.

He’s certainly not a versatile forward, as all he can do is run very fast in a straight line if he’s given space to do so. Given that most teams park the bus against us, he’d be as useful as a concrete parachute.

I stand by my remark, anyone spending £30m+ on him is a fool. For balance, Dortmund signed Donyell Malen for £26m and he’s wide forward who scores and makes goals by the bucket load and will outscore Traore this season.

31 Jul 2021 14:05:54
Those are huge assets for beisla they way he plays. Traore makes sense for leeds. Especially as an impact sub.
But it won't really work for us.

31 Jul 2021 14:32:40
It's not that difficult to see what Klopp wants from he's forwards. Pace, athletism and work-rate. Coz this things can't be coached after that Klopp believes Traore can be coached others aspects of the game tho.

31 Jul 2021 14:39:11
If Bielsa is really interested in Traoré, then what's he going to do with Raphinha? They play the same exact position.

31 Jul 2021 15:20:31
I think Traore would be an excellent signing, he would be the sort of player Oxlade Chamberlain was before his bad injury.

31 Jul 2021 15:26:15
Them days are gone ArAy.

31 Jul 2021 15:53:36
Best impact sub in the world? To be an impact sub he would need to make an impact. I’ve only ever seen him come on at 80 mins then continuously run head down towards the corner flag and lose the ball.

31 Jul 2021 16:34:31
Lord forbid we ever did sign Traore, he’d be about the most unwelcome signing since John Barnes?
I like the guy, he definitely brings and adds to the squad.
His physicality and pace also allow us more tactical flexibility formation wise, especially when more numbers defending deeper may be a requirement.

31 Jul 2021 20:21:02
Don’t mention Traore in the same breathe as John Barnes. John Barnes was everything that Traore isn’t. He was a magnificent footballer who could do the lot, his passing, shooting, vision, awareness were second to none. He had finesse and gracefulness to go with his pace and strength. Barnes was world class. End of. Traore never has been and never will reach that level, you’ve either got it or you haven’t. And he hasn’t.

31 Jul 2021 21:28:43
He was, of course, VVVV.
But an old timer like you must be able to remember that a lot of fans did not want John Barnes at Liverpool prior to his arrival, some of the reasons being what is now said of Traore.
I think that Traore could do well under Klopp’s tutelage and in our team and system/ s.

01 Aug 2021 01:00:58
I wanted us to sign John Barnes because he was consistently Watford’s best player and probably the best player outside of the top four along with Beardsley, you can’t say that about Traore, Barnes always scored and created lots goals, again, you can’t say that for Traore. I was buzzing when we signed Barnes. Traore is nothing like that. Creates nothing, scores nothing. The only reasons some people (cretins) didn’t want Barnes was because they were racists, that’s how crap the 80’s were. Nothing more nothing less. There’s absolutely no comparison between the two situations because one Barnes wa an absolutely top class footballer and the Traore isn’t, period.

{Ed0666's Note - Barnes was a player who was as good as any winger at any time since soccer started. Wonderful wonderful player

01 Aug 2021 10:46:09
Mentioning Barnes and the dross Traore in the same sentence is a slap in the face of the absolute world class baller John Barnes was. Traore would do well to even have just the ability to carry Barnes’ toilet bag, football-wise.
