In fairness in all my years supporting L'pool i've never seen a 5th choice centreback in his mid twenties get a new 4 year contract. Surely this is to protect his value with him going on loan for the season. Otherwise your handing a new multi year contract with higher wages to a guy who's little hope of making matchday squads never mind actually getting on the pitch.

Phillips as a 5th choice is not bad at all.

We have some security in a area that was problematic all of last season.

Fingers crossed the other 4 are over their injury problems of last season and if they're, I'm sure a move will be open for Nat next summer 👍.

Phillips is a great bloke, good defender, helped us get out of a mess last season. I’m a big fan of his as he is an absolute warrior. He’d stick his head where others wouldn’t put their feet.

To the OP. Stick on a Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, spark up a large doobie, crack open a red stripe and chill. Only time will tell if the action (or lack of it) will work.

We never had injuries like last year either. We have fully covered ourselves and if Phillips moves on next summer, all the best to the lad.

Letting Williams go and keeping Phillips makes us stronger.

The transfer windows seem to bring out the worst in posters. Sure we all would have liked to have seen another addition to the team but to react like the OP is ridiculous.

Love Nat but similar people moaned about not selling Divock when his stock was high, rather than rewarding him with a new contract. This is not a good move, a waste of funds, we all wanted him sold and to progress in his career as he deserved, let's not celebrate this.
