I understand people will support unbendingly regardless of what seems to me to be a poor transfer window (though i respect FSG for trying to get us in order financially after some big spends in the past) .
But my question is, what are we going to do vs the low block, we were really poor last season and got denied throughout by deep teams. We weren't even close to breaking down 10 men chelsea last week.

And now with no new forward options, bar minamo and this youth. How do people see us dealing with it in the future? I think chelseas performance will galvanise a lot of the league to copy and paste the low block as they did last year. Worries me!

Think you're over-thinking and a lot of fans here are over-reacting. We had no problem playing against Norwich and Burnely and we won 8-10 games on trot getting in the top 4 last season with no defense so have no idea why all of a sudden players being back have weaken us more?

Chelsea are a super team who defeated City 3 times consecutively does that mean teams have worked how to beat City?

I'm sure we've enough to beat the likes of palace, wolves, etc which is what needed to compete for the title.

Leeds game would answer few questions. They will be tight and still adventurous.
The problem last year was conceding really stupid goals as our defense was knackered and and we couldn't figure out a defensive partnership. I don't think now, with the defence back we will concede those kind of goals and as long as we don't concede there is always a chance we will score atleast one.
As for the chelsea game I will still put that on klopp. He got his team a bit wrong not starting tsimikas and jota our inform players.
Also klopp needs to sort out his midfield picks asap and stick with them. He cannot keep chopping and changing. Stick with elliot thiago and fabs.

Lol Akira, Leeds are not tight at the back they play open and expanisve football. they won't sit back. no chance.

60 odd games a season and Klopp needs to play the same midfield all the time.
You really don't have much of a clue do you Akira?

Why is Thiago always one of thr first picks for midfield. His form at Liverpool doesn’t really justify it. I’m not saying he doesn’t have 5he capability, just that he hasn’t shown it consistently on the pitch for Liverpool.

Take into account that Thiago was playing in an injury ravaged team in his first season. It would be extremely unfair to judge him on that.
See what this season brings.

@WDW: Because he was one of the best players in the last 10 games. Things were different before that and pretty much for the entire team barring a few.

Again i think yourself and a lot of other supporters are overreacting to what was a total freak season last year. The injuries, lack of crowd and fatigue meant that we were playing 10 times slower than we were during the title winning season, when low block teams didn’t cause us much of a problem. Gini was killing every attack and Mane and Firmino weren’t even moving, let alone controlling the ball. The midfield was ruined and then the capacity to play a high line and advanced fullbacks was ruined as well. It was absolutely awful.

Even that was only in the middle bit of the season when it all fell apart, the beginning and the end of the season we were pretty good. We didn’t even get a chance to play with our new toys properly as well, the likes of Jota, Thiago and Tsimikas will go a very long way to breaking down the low block sides.

As for the Chelsea game, they’re a top defensive side with a tactically astute manager, the red card and the timing of it spoilt the game, Klopp probably got his selection a bit wrong, it’s just one of them things where you have to say ‘that’s football’ where mad stuff happens on the day that you can’t predict, you take the point and you move on.

We won cl and epl with klopp sticking to the same midfield 50 odd games.
Its you who needs to get a clue. don't start banter without information.
Klopp works best when he knows who his first team is day in and day out and having someone to backup in case of niggles.
He is not good with changing and chopping. His substitutions are sometimes questionable. It is evident in his managerial career.
As long as he has a decided first team squad he will fo better.

Akira if you are comparing a dystopian, C.V. rifle died season as a valid yardstick to judge the normalcy of this season and what could happen then your comparison and premise is already flawed to bits.

Klopp is the manager that rotates the most esp in the December fixtures (winning the most points bar last season due to injuries) so your point of playing the same midfield/ not knowing how to chop and change is actually wrong, completely.

As for substitutions, no manager ever gets things right every time cos sometimes, they overthink things and get caught up in their heads a bit. It happens. Also, it’s easy for people to say that after the fact whereas the manager is having to deal with things in real time on the pitch. We take the point and move on.
