I understand why the Brazilian FA acted in this way. But given the debacle of the match itself, it comes across as petty and unwarranted.

On another note, I really feel international friendlies are a complete waste of time and should be scrapped. The only friendlies that should take place are those that help teams that qualify for finals to warm up just weeks before the tournament.

As for qualifiers, let's find a sensible solution in times like these. But to act like how the Brazilian FA has acted, it's unnecessary.

The whole season is already so unpredictable and add the C.V. situation and politics to it and makes everything seems against us.

Atleast we have enough cover. Oh wait.

{Ed025's Note - if anyone has any spare tissues could they please forward them on to me please.. :)

What I don't understand is the fact that they are not applying the punishment to Richarlison, despite the fact that Everton also didn't allow him to travel, because they released him for the Olympics?!

This just smacks of the typical football hierarchy "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" petty old boys network which I thought we were trying to remove from the game.

Quite frankly, their hypocrisy, double standards and general pettiness makes my blood boil!

Why the clubs pay the wages they should have the say in it.

I always think he who pays the piper calls the tune. The Brazilian FA don’t pay the wages so they shouldn’t have a choice.

Poor Akira, what a joyless existence. Maybe Santa will bring you some shiny new players in the new year.
In the meantime cheer up, all the constant negativity can't be good for you. I know it sounds a bit off the wall, but maybe try watching the games and enjoying the sport for a change?

This is a genuine question. Was Richarlison called up for the recent 2 games? If the answer is yes, and he didn't travel as Everton wouldn't release him, how can Brazilian FA pick and choose who gets suspended? As I say its a genuine question and maybe one of the Ed's will know. Thanks.

{Ed014's Note - I read that because Everton released him for the Olympics they were more lenient toward him.

Bit early for that, Ed025, mate!

{Ed025's Note - purely for tear wiping rome...honestly.. :)

Spot on, FlashTheRed. Akira, genuine question. Will you ever stop crying? Like I mean, Ever?

09 Sep 2021 11:48:33
They don't have the authority to request players to be released around 17 or 18 days before their match. When landing in Brazil the players based in the UK are obliged to isolate for 14 days so realistically they needed to arrive 17 or 18 days before the game in order to play - they don't have the power to enforce that so any punishment is utter nonsense.

09 Sep 2021 17:20:43
I don’t think anyone is against us Akira, I just feel the whole situation is silly, esp with the exception given to Richardlison. It’ll be equally silly if a Liverpool player benefited from it. There’s no objective standard but more of ‘favors’ base on their decision making.

To add insult to injury, how the match went was a complete fiasco. Understand that is not the doing of the Brazilian FA, but it just shows what messed up times we are in. And while east solutions may not be easily available, what is not needed are more dumb ones!

Thanks Ed014.

{Ed014's Note - welcome mate
