I’m not a fan of the changes we made with the medical team but you can’t blame the Elliott injury on them. Every team gets injuries we just don’t have the squad to cope with getting a few. Midfield we still have numbers but Elliott gone we’re ridiculously light up front now.

Surely the physio department just treat the injuries once they have happened. They don’t plan fitness or actual training sessions for non injured players.

Wasn't even a bad tackle and never a red. The kid was just terribly unlucky.

I disagree. Its an awful tackle.

Whilst his leading leg hooks round Harvey the trailing leg catches him studs first back of the leg. That's what does all the damage.

The relaxation on physical contact this season is going to lead to far more incidents and injuries like this as players become more emboldened to play physically, and go in strongly, without fear of reprieve. Gutted for Elliott has been doing very well, horrible injury to occur.

The lad was sent off and the FA process will take care of the punishment.

I think it terms of reprisals …. Leeds still have to come to our place later in the season.

the 'funny' thing is that Mane was hit with a similar kind of tackle just minutes later. Cooper got him from behind / on the side, definitely contacted Mane first but also won the ball. it looks like he won't the space, to win the ball, if that is even a thing. But he had to clatter mane to get it. anyways, thought that was a foul and they should be discouraging those kinds of tackles from behind.
