E0001, Ed0025 an the others who are on the podcast i know this isn't lfc related but i won't be able to listen live to it this week just wondering why keepers esecially and defenders are crapping themselves when playing against ronaldo and making error after error like zouma and fabianski at the weekend but when us chelsea and city play them they make save after save and we either have to score into an empty net or put ir right into the top corner to finish with players like salah or they triple mark him but have this fetish over ronaldo so don't even bother marking him or making a save. Four times a keep has had a routine save so far this season and rnaldo has socred poor salah has five men round him every game and doesn't have defenders falling over or keepers making routine saves flopped into him. Is it just he's that good at movement? or are teams getting starstuck by the guy.

{Ed001's Note - bit of both mate, his movement is exceptional, but teams should do better and are just kind of expecting to get beat by him so are not playing him as well as they should.}

Agree1 Disagree0

thanks so much for the reply, i just watch games he has played in and im like its flipping Ronaldo mark the guy hahahaha, its not like they have anyone else whos going to score regularily. if our forwards had the space to operate in he has theyd score ten a game.

{Ed001's Note - but it is not that easy with a player like him, he is very clever.}

He is very clever but basic defending went out the window.

{Ed001's Note - I agree, that's why I think it is a bit of both with him. You have to question the keepers as well, they were all saveable shots.}

Ed01, I take your point that it is a bit of both but frankly, some of these players he’s playing against are in awe of him a bit too much, to be fair and it is quite laughable at times.

{Ed001's Note - it will fade though, especially as managers point out to their players his weaknesses.}

I don't watch a lot of footy besides our matches, but I suspect teams are scared of our attacking prowess so leave lots of men at the back. It helps us out in our defence but it means our front 3 have more bodies close to them. Watching us play Leeds was refreshing because it seemed like ages since anyone tried to play against us as opposed to sitting back. And our front 3 gave them a runaround. Don't think teams give Utd the same respect they give us.

He is an excellent footer and can score every way imaginable. And he is hungry to score, more hungry than defendes are desperate to stop him. His 1st goal vs newcastle is pure instinct combined with his desire to be in positions to score. That he is still doing that should be something for all footballers to aspire to. You don't get tap ins by being lazy lol.
