Thats the point we don't need 100's of millions we just needed FSG to get us one top midfield player. Especially seen as they got a massive cash injection in the summer. They spend net zero this summer, kicking the can down the road.

We are 10 games in what has Saul got to do with it? Chelsea don't need him atm. 10 games has told us nothing yet wait till December or better Still May before you make any assumptions. Of course Elliot would have played instead of Hendo and Jones has still plenty to prove. Fingers crossed though. I think we will make a decent signing in Jan, Klopp is jabbing them as well.

Luckily we have invested in so many players. With the number of midfield injuries, if we didn't have 8 first team midfielders built up over the last few seasons then we'd be needing to throw the kids out there.

I am not complaining, striving to give Klopp the best chance he has. Wanting to be the best is not complaining. I am 100 % convinced we need a player in Jan. I said at the beginning we would win the league but we needed a midfielder to accomplish that. So I believe we are so close but we need the missing piece.

If we don’t get down to the bare bones at some point then I will be the first to put my hand up and say you were all correct.

Is the midfielder we need actually out there and available to buy? More importantly can we afford him? Bellingham-too expensive. Bissouma-too much baggage. Saul-went to Chelsea. Kessie-has been damned after one game against us. Maybe we should sign De Bruyne? Or one of the Italian midfielders, who historically don’t like to leave Italy.

We need legs in midfield, maybe Elliot is back end of Jan and we will be ok. I thought John Mcginn would have been decent plenty energy and will to win. Plus a few goals he is a good finisher. I am sure Edwards and Klopp have a list.

You are actually complaining Mark - you are complaining that the club aren’t buying the player you want. I have a three year old granddaughter who is going through the ‘ I want ‘ phase - I guess some of us never grow out of it. We are all aware that you are convinced that we need a midfield player in January. Why don’t you give it a rest for the next couple of months and see if the club agrees with you in January. After all we can’t sign anybody at the moment so no matter how many times you stamp your foot and say ‘I want’ it will achieve absolutely nothing except increased blood pressure all around.

Not sure why so many on here are so against transfers, didn’t we sign Allison, Robbo, Vvd, Gomez, Matip, Konate, Hendo, Thiago, Naby, Milner, Elliot, Mane, Bobby, Jota, Salah etc. Or did I miss them coming through the youth system.

Wanting transfers and realising the owners aren’t going to spend currently doesn’t make you less of a fan if anything it just makes you a realist. Moaning about it constantly isn’t going to change that but also moaning about it constantly doesn’t make someone less of a fan.

Every fan wants different things and has different views and opinions and this is what this site is for and whether you’re a glass half full, empty or you have red blinkered glasses on everyones opinion has zero impact or effect on what the owners or club actually chooses to do. The beauty of football is everyone has an opinion and feels apart of the club and game despite what side of the fence they fall on.

And I don't see anyone being called less of a fan over it either. It's more of a disappointment that good posters allow themselves to be railroaded onto that particular subject and bring it up at every turn.
It's not like any of us aren't grasping the point.

I wasn’t criticising anyone on this thread. Actually think a lot of the best posters on this group have actually commented above. Was just talking in general. I was actually fed up of coming on here during the transfer window not because of the posters who were excited about possible transfers but more to do with the bar humbugs who were adamant we didn’t need a transfer.

For me there’s a massive difference between us not getting a transfer and not needing one. But just my opinion.

Fair comment JK. But this thread is a prime example. It starts off about Newcastle's new owners and within half a dozen posts it's "we need a midfielder", "FSG let us down" and so on and so on.
As WDW rightly points out, it's not as if we can actually buy a player at the moment, so what is being achieved by harping on about it constantly?
It's borderline obsessive behaviour and it needlessly derails threads. And that is when good sites like this start to suffer.
