Morning all
I just want to throw something into the hole salah contract debate.
Is Salah playing the best football of his career because of the contract talks going on and could possible move somewhere else in the summer so would be able to ask for the big move and more money! Or is he just loving life with us playing in front of fans again and killing it on the pitch?
Personally I think I could be a bit of both🤔.

Agree1 Disagree0

I’m not sure that contracts even enter your head when you’re on the pitch in the midst of a game?
Salah is at the perfect age now, he knows the Prem, his opponents, his game, in great physical shape and his self-confidence is sky high.
Unless he or his family specifically want to move out of the U. K., he’s at the best possible place for him to play right now.
Liverpool have to find a way to reward him without blowing the wage structure to smithereens, a bonus scheme or such like.
I’m sure that a compromise will be found if both parties want it. At least Salah looks happy with his lot right now.

I remember when Torres was having his tantrum before we shipped him off to Chelsea. it looked like he had downed tools and then he sprung to life when we played Chelsea and bagged a brace.

I think we are seeing Salah at the peak of his powers and all the money people will be trying to predict how long this peak will last before they commit to a long term contract. He does have every motivation to be playing for his next contract, but he also seems like the kind of guy who wants to be great and is just going out there and being exactly that, great.

I think Salah has the ability and physique to be able to play at this level for another 4 plus years.

We have to get Mo tied up for so many reasons and I think that we will.

Just want Mrs Klopp to get her husband to sign another extension.

Then once Pep leaves Citeh we concentrate on sorting out his successor along with the Saudi boys in the north and Chelski and United (once they have a proper coaching set up) .

I'm all for fiscal prudence and everything (and we all know that FSG are very prudent), but the wage structure is not entirely in the club's hands. To stay at the top, and to keep top players you have to contend with market forces, and market salaries. Agreed that you don't have to be overly generous, but you can't be overly prudent either, and not everything is under your control. Once a contract is nearing the end, the market has a higher role to play, especially when a player is at his peak.

The only question is how easy he is to replace, and quite frankly he’s extremely difficult to replace. He’s supremely fit, he looks after himself incredibly well, he’s skilfiul, scores all kinds of goals, he’s consistent and he’s professional in how he conducts himself on and off the pitch. To my mind there’s very few out there capable of replacing him and none of them come at the prices we can afford.

Nah, I just posted the same further up the page in jest, but for me he’s just fit, healthy and firing on all cylinders and so is the team right now. I think he wants some more trophies so is putting in maximum effort.

When his time comes to take a bow, he'll be replaced by a younger cheaper version who will hopefully develop into that type or level of player.
The likes of Torres, Suarez, Salah, Mane and Firmino didn't exactly cost top dollar when they were bought. It comes down the scouting then the coaching.

Flash, it took us three years to replace Suarez. If we’re seriously looking at the likes of Dembele, Traore, Asensio or Doku as replacements for Salah, then it’ll take us even longer to replace Salah adequately.
