To be fair, VVVV is right about Chelsea and not are the scoring but not conceding either.
They are also scoring goals from all over the pitch.

Agree1 Disagree0

Chelsea look very good atm but as we know its a very long hard season. Their games get a lot harder soon.

The atmosphere seemed very flat second half v Brighton is that a fair comment Drogie?

It was a reply to a below post 😂😂
It is a long season and it’s not even Christmas I just think they look a strong outfit at the moment.

Fair comment and I’d add the crowd became tense when Brighton gained the upper hand mate.

It'll be interesting to see if Chelsea can stay the pace.
They look a solid outfit, Tuchel has made them a hard team to beat. See how they cope with playing every 3 or 4 days in different tournaments. We'll have a better idea of their title credentials by January.

01 Nov 2021 20:51:36
Chelsea also have money that they could use in January to sign players.

01 Nov 2021 20:53:27
This time last season Spurs were top of the league. You don't win anything in November.

01 Nov 2021 20:55:58
It’s just been 10 games played. Way too much football left to play.

01 Nov 2021 21:02:51
And yet they will still end up with just 11 players on the pitch.

01 Nov 2021 21:06:36
Yep I got that it was a reply to lower down. Am sure the crowd will be up for it on Wednesday. Fingers crossed that Fabs, or Thiago are fit. I don't think Hendo, Jones and Ox will be enough.

Two silver clouds after this weekend anyway.
The Ev have had another shoeing, and Geordies Arabia did as well.

Even though it’s only 10 games in its pretty evident the 3 teams in the title hunt which is us Chelsea and City.

Even though teams like West Ham and Arsenal aren’t far behind you would expect both to drop off at some point and with Ole at the wheel there’s no way Utd are title contenders.

Lots of football to be played and whilst many factors are in our hands there’s also many that aren’t and it could go down to the run of the green in some games.

When it comes to the strongest 11’s I believe we have the best one out of the 3 but on squad strength we are probably 3rd. That’s not saying our squad is weak but it’s not as strong as City’s and Chelsea’s.

One of my main concerns is City and Chelsea have the capabilities to strengthen in Jan and strengthen big where as we actually know months in advance that we will be depleted in Jan with the loss of Salah and Mane.

Athletico tomorrow which I think will be very tough but for me we can afford to drop points there but West Ham on Sunday is a must win.

Loving seeing and hearing the fans back in the stadium after last seasons drab football throughout the league.

I would certainly agree with JK23. I said at the start of the season that our success would rely on keeping our key core group fit. Our midfield has taken a bit of a battering to be honest with Thiago, Elliot, Milner and Keita now and even Fabinho all on the sick list. Its a worrying trend that needs to be reversed if we want to stay competitive.

It’s all very well pumping United for five, but failing to hold on to a two goal lead at home to Brighton is not a good sign. Those are the games we need to be winning if we have any aspirations of winning the league. For perspective, as exciting it was to draw 3-3 with Brentford, Chelsea went there and took a 1-0 win. That’s what will be our undoing, failing to pick up points in the games we should be winning and not managing games when we’re in the lead. And unlike Spurs though, Thunderbird, Chelsea are unlikely to capitulate at the slightest minor issue. As proven by their going to Newcastle and picking up 3 east points without either of their frontline strikers. Not certain I could say the same about us if we went there without Mane and Salah.

Our midfield performance was shocking for 2/ 3 of the game, offered no protection to our defence and offered nothing going forward. Jones and Ox shouldn’t play in the same midfield together unless it’s a domestic cup game which we can afford to bin off, it just leaves us far too open. But equally we’ve too many injury prone midfielders. Proves the point that although we may apparently have a lot of a players who may play in midfield, once you get past the starting 3, the quality of those options is patchy and additionally, almost all of them have issues with fitness and injury in one form or another.

If the rumours are true that Mane and Salah will both have to join their respective squads two weeks in advance of the AFCON, that’s a potential hammer blow to our season, it’s bad enough that they’d be away four to five weeks, but seven? I just don’t see where we’re going to score goals from as we are disproportionately reliant on Mane and Salah.

Although there’s still a lot of football left to play, all the signs are that we’re more likely to be in the also rand than Champions because we drop points cheaply.

{Ed001's Note - if only people added context into their comments, they wouldn't be so laughable. Brighton only dropped out of the top 4 because Bissouma was out, he was back against us, so it was not a bad result overall, disappointing as it was. In fact considering the performance it was a very good result. We won't play that badly often.

As for your 'perspective', Chelsea got absolutely cut to shreds in the second half against Brentford, only for woeful finishing to enable them to survive. That was luck, not them being any better a team, as on another day those shots that consistently got hit straight at the keeper go to one side and end up in the back of the net.

Then there is Newcastle, who played a 9-1-0 formation and would have been an easy win for anyone under that chancer Jones, who is well out of his depth. He is even more of a David Brent than Rodgers at his worst. Listen to his comments about not even picking the side, football does. Wtf? The guy is a joke and embarrassing.

As for the midfield comments, the issue is not playing Jones and Ox together, it is not having a defensive midfielder behind them. Added to Virgil having an absolute stinker, in fact pretty much everyone playing badly bar Alisson, Salah and Mane, it happens. But when you face probably the best midfielder in the Prem, bar Kante, when he is fresh and fired up, added to an excellent partner desperate to impress against the team he supports in Mwepu, with a weakened midfield is always difficult. People are too impatient and want everything now. Paisley would have been hounded out of the club after his first few months in this modern era. I mean you are even whining about things you don't know are true, regarding the AFCON, but why wait until you know when you can whinge like a spoilt brat now?}

Don't forget that Chelsea have a trip to the UAE coming up for the CWC in early 2022. Who knows how they will cope with that.

02 Nov 2021 10:25:24
I didn't even need to see the name at the bottom. I knew whose post that was just reading the sheer negativity of it.
If you didn't know any better, you'd think the club was mired in a relegation dogfight, not the only unbeaten team in the Premiership and only 3 points off the top.
No wonder the Eds get a bit hacked off with it.

02 Nov 2021 13:57:42
VVVV, I read your post and it lacked complete context and "perspective" cos clearly, you did not watch the Chelsea games vs Brentford and Newcastle and Im happy Ed01 addressed the points you had missed cos clearly, you didn't watch those games cos I did as well.

All you seem to care about is the result they had and to use it as a stick to beat us with. Be better, man. Negativity and always looking at what other teams do, is only going to leave you as desperate to slander the team as your post suggests.

Also Ed01 did not even mention Chelsea's game vs Villa at home where they got absolutely battered in the first half and it was only a counter attack goal and a dreadful mistake from the awfully overrated Mings that gave them the 2 goal lead they had to take the game. Villa should have been 3-1 up in the first half BUT they got out of jail big time in that game as well. All we did was get a draw and here you are going nuts. What would you have done had we lost, then? My goodness, chill out man it's only been 10 games.
