So Bobby is injured now, a bad hamstring.
It’s not an exaggeration we seem to be picking up an injury every game which goes back to the start of last season.
Ed is it bad luck, the intensity of our game, or do we have to start looking at the medical staff.
Obviously not the impact injuries, but we’re picking up much more muscle injuries more than anyone else at this level and have been for a long time. Winter will probably have its say also.
It’s baffling really we’ve just become used to it 😂.

We will miss two forwards and one, midfielder which the club will have factored into their planning, unless they don’t know that AFCON was scheduled to happen.

I think we will only have sleepless nights if we just imagine the worst of all scenarios all the time.

WDW, we will have Jota, Minamino and Origi as forward options in January depending on how long Firmino is out for. That is not worst case scenario. Worst case scenario is if some of them get injured as well. Do you seriously think that is good enough to get us through 2 games a week in January?

It doesn't matter whether it's deemed good enough.
It's what Klopp has to work with that matters, anything else is pipe dreams and wishful thinking.
The remaining players get a chance to step up to the plate, it's up to them to take that chance.

If Firmino is out for 4 or even 6 weeks he will be back for January.

Even if he isn’t and all three of the back-up players you mention are injured it isn’t the end of the world. We could, for instance, change the team formation. There is nothing in the rules that says we have to play 4-3-3. We could play 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 or 9-2 (the old Jose ‘Park The Bus’ formation) .

As nobody knows what the finalised arrangements are for players travelling to the completion it’s all speculation at the moment, so why worry?

The thing is the club will be planning for it and I trust JK to come up with a plan.

What matters most is our next game. West Ham are on a bit of a roll and we will need to play well to get a result. If we don’t play well this month and next month, what happens in January won’t matter mate.

What 2 games a week in January? We've a league game the 2nd, 15th, and 23rd. F. A Cup is the 8th/ 9th. Champions league doesn't start again until February. Where are these mythical 2 games a week in January?

I think there was a report that said with (possible) quarantine restrictions) and the need for players to travel a good period before the comp started that they might miss 8 games. The report didn’t specify which games they were though but when you light the blue touch paper …. 😁.

Babbity, there’s only so many players you can have in a 25 man squad and there is only so many forwards you can have within that 25 man squad. It is the manager’s job to juggle the scenarios and determine how many players to fill each domain on the pitch as in defence, midfield and attack.

You are moaning about us leaving ourselves short in attack. We have 5 forwards within the first team already so if you wanted us to sign a new one then someone would have had to leave to make space in the squad so who would have been?

Senegal’s first match (as things stand) is on January 11th and Egypt’s is on the 12th.

I’d be most surprised if Mane and Salah leave before Jan 3rd, given the match we have on the 2nd Jan is the return PL fixture with Chelsea.
