If we look back over several seasons Liverpool have quite often had their worst spell of results in November - for whatever reason. Of course not every season.

Well, with losing our first league game in November, and of the season so far, I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come this month.

At least the International break reduces the number of games for us this November.

My worry is, we played awful against WH, thoroughly deserving to lose, still have loads of injuries, and will lose our most potent players for the whole of January, and just don't have the quality in depth to cope with this.

It's been commented on these pages that WH's problems could come due to their lack of squad depth, but quality wise, ours isn't much better.

Just imagine playing up to 8 games with Salah, Mane and even Keita.

It's not a comforting thought.

What do others think?

That should say 'without' btw.

Wow KBL we have lost one prem game this season that’s all just one. Topped the champions league group with two games to go and in the last 8 in the league cup. We have incredible players and probably the best manager in the world. We have a world class stadium and training Center. Get a grip mate and enjoy it while it lasts!

OP, I think our worst times near every season under Klopp is btw Jan and Feb. We lost one game in the last 25 in all comps. No point over-analysing things and trying to draw parallels which IMO, don’t exist. We just need to improve and keep working hard at the things we aren’t currently good at and we will be okay. Cheers, man.

The AFCON thing and the fact we’re looking weak in midfield and defence is the reason we won’t win the league and league games without Salah and Mane is going to crucify us, it’s plausible to think we could go those five games without a win as we struggled to break down Chelsea earlier this season, we have struggled against Leicester on a few occasions, Palace is a hard place to go to at the best of times and they’re going reasonably well, and Brentford are going to fancy their chances again.

I think we can consider the domestic cups binned off as there’s no point risking limited resources on those competitions.

Given there’s no money to spend (at least not being able to bring in any decent players) we’ve just got to soak it up.

Last Nov and Dec we were top of the league. Oli nailed it we normally have our wobble straight after Xmas and into Jan.
As longthing said it’s been a good start to the season overall but I think if you break each one down then

CL- Phenomenal start to the season 4 wins from 4 in the so called group of death. Qualified already with 2 games to spare.

League Cup - a comp we normally go out early so nice to see us still in it and done it by utilising the squad.

League - a good start with us currently 4th and only having lost 1 game. The not so good part is we’ve only won just over half the games and drawn just under the other half. On current trajectory it would work out over the season roughly as us winning around 20 games, Drawing 15 games and losing 3. Which would leave us with 75 points. Is that enough to win the league. Who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️.

It used to be (70s and 80s) our best period was after Christmas.

I think you were joking mate. 75 points will be lucky to get top 4. Nearly 90 points will be needed to win the league. It’s been a poor start to the league campaign. No one at the start of the season would have settled for our points total atm. The next 10 games we need a minimum 25 points.

{Ed025's Note - get a grip mark, its been a very decent start for the reds mate..

Mark I’m playing devils advocate mate. Like I said great start to the CL and not ideal that we have drawn so many games. I don’t think 75 points would be enough but it’s a guessing game as literally the season could play out any way.

Losing isn’t the end of the world and if we had actually lost 1 more game of the draws and won the other 3 we would actually be 5 points better off.

Id happily take 8 league defeats a season if it meant we’ve won the other 30 games and put us on 90 points. However we don’t live in an ideal world and for us to finish on 90 points + we need 23 wins from the remaining 26 games.

27 games sorry.

4 points off top and finishing top of the champions league group with two games to spare is a pretty good start for me👌
Aiye it be tough enough come January, I think there tough enough to power through it though, would the big dog be open to changing formation to accommodate it I wonder. 💪.

Mark mate you are the most negative supporter about bud cheer up it could be worse it could be 10 years ago mate.

11 Nov 2021 10:21:04
Redjoe21 and this is just my opinion, it seems that some people just have this need to be negative/ salty at all times to make it sound like they are different or are of a higher standard than everyone else meanwhile, forgetting that it is actually very possible to be optimistic while at the sake time, recognising blindspots and flaws within the system, group or society and work to correct them. Sad.

Oli, that kind of "pseudo-intellectualism" (which you're describing) takes you nowhere. Those who know, know.

11 Nov 2021 21:25:54
ArAy1969, I gave an opinion. All that pseudo-whatever stuff, I’ll leave up to you to nibble on.
