Thanks for reply 0666, Skippy was a great but fear Becks wins that one. Probably not a popular decision on here but I'm honest and appreciate Craigie's effort. Just fear Davids finally ball and honors list wins that one.

I think it might just be me but I think Beckham was so overrated it’s not funny. Great passer of a ball with his right foot. No left foot, no speed and the defensive ecapabilities of a turnstile. Seems like a pleasant enough bloke but he made an average amount go an awful long way - just my opinion.

Very similar to Trent then West Derby? Beckham was a world class playmaker from right midfield as Trent is for us. It's no coincidence they struggled after he left.

IMO, Johnston was a beast and I was a huge fan of his in the 9”80’s as a young fan growing up. I’m with Ed666 on this one. Johnston was severely underrated. Not sure Beckham can play the side role the way it is now whereas I think, Johnston with the right coaching could cos he had pace, trickery and could get behind the back line.

@Peterprice - as I say, just my opinion mate. With Giggs, Keane and Scholes alongside him he was made to look better than he was - imho Giggs (dubious character though he appears to be) was a far better footballer. Beckham was a bit like Ringo in the Beatles - he helped make the sum of the whole better than the some of the parts.

Ed do you ever get why Kenny never gets discussed amongst the greatest British player ever? I've heard Gazza and George Best so many times it makes me sick but The King often gets overlooked unless it's by liverpool or Celtic fans. I've even read journos describe David Beckham as one of the best. It baffles me.
