Going to get some hate for this and go against popular opinion, however, if we did sign traore I think kloop might unearth a decent player.
Look I’m no expert and I’m probably wrong, just something about him seems like there is something to be tapped into and I think kloop is the man to do it, along with he’s coaching team. Henderson was written off, although I always thought he would future captain, ox was laughed at and he has become a great squad player. I just think he has the raw ingredients to suit us.

Agree9 Disagree0

Here here, will support anyone once they pop the shirt on.

I can only say what I see, and when I look at Traore, I see a player who's nearly 26 and his end product is so poor that it borders on being funny. I think it's a mentality thing with him cos he just seems to go to pieces in around the box, and if he hasn't sorted at this point in his career, I think it's always going to be a major shortcoming for him.

Klopp is the best in the world, but he's not a magician. Yes Salah and Mane improved under him, but Salah improved from slightly less than a goal every other game to two goals in every three games. Traore's starting point is a goal every fourteen games. There are limits to what Klopp can do.

I'll want the guy to succeed if he does join us, but as things stand, he's a player I think we should avoid.

26 Nov 2021 00:09:23
In all honest and i should have known prior to my post, but I didn't realise he was 26. Not that's old, God I'd love to be 26 again lol. I thought he was only in his Early / 20s.

26 Nov 2021 01:28:54
The guy was at La Masia, the best centre for developing technical footballers in Europe, yet they couldn’t coach passing, crossing and finishing into him. If they can’t do it, no one can. Literally his repertoire is greasing himself up and running head down at people, when it comes to end product there is nothing, highlight reel footballer springs to mind.

He’s 26, he’s as good as he’s ever going to get (which incidentally, is not very good), quite frankly you cannot simply cannot train or coach end product at his age.

He is literally the worst forward in the premier league as he doesn’t score and he doesn’t create for others. I’d be utterly disappointed if we wasted any money on him, he’s a mid table player at best, and I’m being very generous when I call him that.

He would quickly become a walking joke by virtue of the fact we’d have spend a lot of money on the most impotent forward in the premier league.

{Ed0666's Note - he’s not a forward tho he’s a winger isn’t he?

26 Nov 2021 06:06:01
Surely Klopp knows what he is doing. Just as long as we keep Salah he can buy who he thinks is best. We don’t really have a ball carrier in midfield and Traore can do that as well as anyone coming off the bench.

{Ed001's Note - Ox, Elliot and Jones would all disagree about not having a ball carrier in midfield.}

26 Nov 2021 06:43:31
VVVV, you should just copy and paste mate. Save you time in the future 😄.

26 Nov 2021 08:09:27
I think it would be worth signing Traore just for the meltdown on here.

26 Nov 2021 08:24:46
Traore is lacking confidence and composure for sure. He goes through on goal and loses his cool and snatches at shots. His crossing is hit and miss but I remember earlier in the season he was putting chances on a plate for wolves forwards and they were missing sitters too. He also creates lots of chances that others can't just from his shear pace and power. He beats his man most of the time. I don't agree that at 26 you can't improve. Of course you can improve at any age with the right coaching. His assist stats would go up from the start simply because we have better finishers than wolves. He would also get more chances because we're a better team than wolves. I think for the right money (less than 30 mill) he's worth a punt.

26 Nov 2021 08:45:04
Traore is pants. The End.

26 Nov 2021 08:52:55
There’s literally no amount of money where he’s worth a punt. No amount of coaching his going to improve his end product, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you don’t think they would have tried at La Masia? If they couldn’t do it, then no one can. Literally they work on technical aspects of the game, that’s their specialty.

His shortcomings are nothing to do with confidence, it’s a lack of ability, his shooting either ends up in row z or in the keepers arms as he lacks the finesse to get the ball on target, he can’t make a simple pass let alone a killer pass and his crossing is best described as putting his foot through it as hard as possible and hoping for the best. Literally the only thing he’s good at is sticking his head down and running towards the opposition as quickly as he can (before losing it cheaply) I’d rather we signed Djimi Traore quite honestly.

26 Nov 2021 08:53:19
Traore absolutely has attributes that Klopp can work with.

26 Nov 2021 08:59:57
No idea why a lot of posters start with I’m going to get some hate for this.

Who cares, It’s your personal opinion you don’t have to justify yourself to the minority who only seem to come on here to criticise other posters there daring to not share their opinion.

This is an amazing site and it’s for everyone regardless if you’re in the camp of the title is already won or you are all doom and gloom. Its a banter site for Liverpool fans to discuss and share their opinions.

None of us are better fans than the other.

Personally on the post I’d prefer to see us aiming far higher than Traore but I’m a realist who knows we sell to buy big. If Traore comes in so be it and the positive thing is when he’s putting his poor deliveries into the box rather than just having Jimenez trying to get on the end of then he would have any of Salah, Mane, Bobby and Jota trying to finish them. So believe it or not we could actually see his poor deliveries go through the roof for assists.

26 Nov 2021 09:38:58
Can’t polish a turd.
He had potential years ago but he’s not learned anything, he doesn’t have a footballing brain, he’s just a blunt object who will run head down towards the corner flag and lose possession. If he’s not learned to look up and watch what’s going on around him by now I don’t think he ever will. He should have gone into rugby.

26 Nov 2021 10:55:54
Surprised any player would want t I come to us with the outlook of shoot him down before he kicks a ball.
Was Van Dijk the player he is before us, Mane, Salah the worlds best player when at Roma?
Fabinho the best holding mid when at Monaco
TAA was getting regular assists at youth level, Robinson was a steal with the player he is now at £8m
List goes on and on. Yea there is players that haven’t reached the heights we thought they would.
But all of them and the players above were all given a chance and our support to prove themselves at our wonderful club. Who better to transform a player into a better player than the Liverpool coaching staff? We have the best in the world at this club.
That’s my belief anyway.
If Traore comes I will support him no matter what. That’s what Liverpool football club has been built on over the years.

26 Nov 2021 11:09:21
Djimi Traore, CL winner, FA cup winner and League Cup Winner? I've seen worse medal hauls, oh and own goal specialist 😅👍.

26 Nov 2021 13:02:12
I would also like to add he is only effective when playing on the counter and a lot of the time our forwards play against packed defences in tight games, having to control and move the ball on in very tight areas. Watching Traore try and do that would be a disaster of Balotelli-esque proportions. I actually wouldn’t be shocked if he ended the season without a single goal or assist for us if he signed, he is completely incompatible with the demands of a Klopp side, or indeed any half decent footballing side for that matter. Why do you think a mid-table outfit like Wolves are so desperate to move him on? They know as much as anyone how much of a myth he is and that someone will be stupid enough to pay the money, probably Everton.

26 Nov 2021 14:12:10
Not read all the replies but yeah, the fella isn't for me. I don't think he's anywhere near good enough for Liverpool. Never was and never will be.

Should he sign then fine, he gets my support. Good luck to the lad and all that but he will fail. Shaqiri reminder anybody?

26 Nov 2021 15:24:16
I waited the wolves united again a few months back and the lad was big strong and so fast but every time he got near the box he couldn't do a thing with the ball. Personally I there are better options about that I assume would cost a similar fee. Sarr and Raphinha would be a better option from the prem league alone.

26 Nov 2021 15:50:38
Irish Rover, people seem to remember Djimi Traore’s own goal against Burnley, but forget he cleared one off the line in the Champions League final when it was 3-3. No Djimi Traore, no Champions League win in 2005. We wouldn’t have come back again from 4-3 down.

26 Nov 2021 20:31:42
JK23 our forwards would have to grow two feet to get anywhere near Traore’s crosses.

Gaz, van Dijk, Mane, Salah and Fabinho were all highly rated and we’re stand out players in their before we sighed them. Lots of sides wanted van Dijk including City and Chelsea, United wanted Mane and Fabinho and Salah was tearing up Serie A and was looked at by a lot of top sides.

Traore does not in any way compare with any them. He’s a below average winger playing at a poor level.

Believing that somehow the shortcomings in his game can be coached is Brendan Rodgers territory. It would be a huge waste of money that we can’t afford to waste.

26 Nov 2021 21:08:48
IR, that trophy collection is nothing to sneeze at. Both PSG and City are funded by being part of a country’s annual budget and good old Djimi T has more CL trophies than them.

26 Nov 2021 21:57:05
Vvv I’m pretty sure all our forwards have already grown 2 feet mate. A right one and a left one 😜.

27 Nov 2021 00:28:26
Thats very true Redmersey but THAT own goal was special mate 👍.

27 Nov 2021 10:43:34
Just so I’m clear - who says we are going to buy anybody in January?

Given AFCON starts in the first week in January, who do people think we are likely to buy with the funds we (don’t) have who will sign at the start of the week and walk straight into the starting eleven? Genuine question, cos unless we can convince PSG and Dortmund to sell us Mbappe and Haaland for shiny beads and our old record collection I don’t see many likely options.

27 Nov 2021 10:57:22
WDW of course we will be active in January. I bet my house on it 🤥.
