I know I am going to get shouted at this but is Jota the closest player we have had, that's like Fowler, and I am one of God's biggest fans, Jota like Robbie always seems to be in the right place, cracking finisher, maybe doesn't get involved with the link up play as much, but what a player we have in Jota.

Long way to go before Jota is bagging 30 goals a season in my opinion.

I kind of get what you mean in terms of how lethal he is on both feet and with his head, but there are several levels between Jota and prime Fowler.

He has a long way to go but I can see all three of them getting 20 league goals this season. His minutes per goal are right up there.

No. coz Jota is a left-winger who is doing a more than enough job upfront. But I would still play him on the left if we had a proper striker upfront.

Nearly 1 in 2 for us since he signed. He's no Fowler but he's done a great job. Great signing.

He's a bit similar in that he's good sniffing chances in the box and is a threat in the air despite not being especially tall. But peak Fowler married that to really good hold up and link play which has Jota has to develop, and had better striking technique meaning he could score from distances and angles that most forwards can't.

Jota is doing very well though. If he adds a little more work off the ball and can improve his link up play a bit (he does seem to be trying to work on it, he dropped off to drag a defender or receive the ball a lot more yesterday than we usually see), we'll have a very good player for a long time.

Apparently he was playing in a FIFA 22 International qualifying tournament yesterday morning before the game. Made it to round 4 before he had to leave in case he was late to the game.

I actually thought that Jota's contribution outside the goals was poor yesterday. His passing and build up play was abysmal. I don't know how many moves broke down when the ball got to him. No dig at him by the way because he's been brilliant since he arrived.

Very different players, both clinical, but Fowler had so much more to his game, he was like it you put Jota and Bobby in the same body, freakishly gifted.
