Evening Ed001, are you still enjoying last nights result? I'm looking forwaed to your match review as always!

I wanted to ask you about the young lads Kaide Gordon and Tyler Morton. How has Kaide been? I always seem to see him in the first team training pics, it's shame he was injured for last cup game but hopefully he get's a start against Leicester. And Morton looks really good already his passing stands out, he's good under pressure and to me he looks quite quick! How high do Klopp and the coaches rate him?

{Ed001's Note - I believe Kaide is in there to get adjusted to the physicality as he struggles with that. The ability is there, but he is very lightweight right now. A few cup games will do him good.

Morton has made himself an option, the coaching staff were really impressed with him and that is why he has been in the squad. The lad does seem to have it all, he is strong, quick, technically good, composed and nothing seems to phase him on the pitch. You can see why Klopp has kept him around the first team squad.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully both Gordon and Morton make it with LFC.

Both will definitely make it if they continue to heed the advice they get.

It’s very very difficult to make the step up to the first team. How many players from the Academy have become Liverpool first team regulars in the PL era? I reckon 10 maximum, which is about one every 3 years. Trent though would have cost £100m. Can’t wait for the next one to make it.

Mark, we can only hope, init?

We got Fowler and Macca at roughly the same time. Then 2 years later Owen, Rob Jones at a similar time and a couple years earlier Carra so it can be done.

One thing is in our favour compared to our record if bringing thru youngsters in the PL era, the kids have proper quality professionals to train with and look up to and glean advice from. From an on and off the pitch perspective. On top of that, they are looking up to a team of proven winners I'm every position. Our kids in the academy have no real excuse in terms of extrinsic motivation to make the grade so the ball is quiet literally in their court.

Rob Jones wasn't in the academy. Souness signed him from Crewe.

Rob Jones didn’t come through the academy. We signed him from Crewe and threw him in straight in at the deep end against United at old toilet a couple of days after signing him. He had a great game.

Thanks for the reply Ed001, sounds very promising and we know they are in they are in the best hands means they'll have the best chance at making it.
