Great Everton review as always eds, they are my favourite part of the site those. If you get a few minutes would you mind sharing your'e thoughts on Origi he certainly seems to know where the net is when we need him.
The red machine roars on, we go again.

{Ed001's Note - thank you TC!

Origi is a special kind of player, more akin to American Football special teams than a normal footballer. He is so laid back you can't rely on him to go and dominate and perform week in and week out. But he is so laid back that nothing phases him, so when he gets a chance the composure and calmness is there to just put it in the back of the net, no matter how big the occasion is. Great player to come off the bench and irreplaceable imo.}

If he went to a mid table team in the league, and started week in week out, how do you reckon he’d do?

{Ed001's Note - I don't think he has the kind of mentality where it would suit him. I just don't think he does enough to play 90minutes every week. Plus his strong suit is the big games, when his laid back nature helps him as he is not bothered by the occasion. How many of them big games do you get in a mid-table team?}

I’d like to point out that i was very critical of him last season, but on the odd occasion he has got minutes this season I actually think he’s looked a lot better, I can see improvement. Sure he’s not using his physicality as much as he could do but i’m seeing more drive, more impetus, more effective all round play. If the guy genuinely loves the club as much as everyone says he does and keeps improving on an upward trajectory that allows Klopp to trust him more often, i see no reason to get rid of him. He is a very unique player and finisher and for all my whining that he isn’t good enough i see that now more clearly than ever. If he keeps putting in the work i think there could be a lot more to come from Origi, especially while AFCON is being played.

I’ve seen fans suggest Origi playing every game could be a 20-25 goal a season striker. That puts him in the 100 mill category these days due to his age. Selling him could solve a lot of our financial issues.

Unfortunately I can’t see him going for more than 15 mill. I’d have no issue with us keeping him but from what Klopp said yesterday it does look like he could be off.

Let's not forget he has had seasons where he has scored 10 and 11 goals for us in the past. If he's given similar number of appearances (not starts, I don't think he should start at all), I see no reason why he can't duplicate that form. And these goals help. Like everyone is saying, he's the impact, super-sub type of player, and they definitely help when your main guys have not done it on a particular day.

I, too, have promoted, the idea of selling him. I think it's still an option. But I have doubts whether buying a Bowen or Traore, to replace him, makes the team better? I don't mind a laid back guy one bit, as long as he produces when it is really needed. It probably all depends on him. To stay or go. I think the club will let him play out his contract, if he decides to go. But you never know. There is an option for an extension in his contract. The club is known to extend if the need is there; see Milner and Adrian.

Just to add to what’s been said, I also think Div has excelled in a situation where he no longer feels the pressure to prove himself every time he gets a run out. He is expecting to be sold and waiting for that to happen, and has settled into this knowledge to play without pressure - which seems to have helped his composure.

Thanks for the review Ed, one of the best yet can’t wait for the Wolves one.
I think DCL is pivotal to Everton as Jiminez is for Wolves. It seems the teams are completely set up around their main men.
I didn’t enjoy 93 minutes of the game yesterday, Wolves can really frustrate teams. I think teams will really get at Chelsea without Kante, we need to keep winning because they’ll drop more points with him out. I still stand by if you finish above man city you’ll win the league.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate and I agree on both DCL, Jiminez and finishing above Citeh (if anyone does) will win the league.}
