2 go through and some best placed 3rd teams. He'll not be back for a good few weeks yet.

Dunno Mane Mane, Carlos Queiroz is their manager. 0 points from 3 games is very possible with such a titan in charge.

Don't see Sudan and Guinea-Bissau causing them much trouble lads. Though it would be great to see him back Friday before the Palace game.

Egypt's final group game against Sudan takes place next Wednesday on January 19.

Were the worst to happen and Egypt not make it through to the next phase, Salah could even be back with his employers in time for the clash with Palace four days later.

AFCON rules do contain the safety net for the four best third-placed finishers to still qualify for the latter rounds, though, meaning Salah's Egypt would have to make a real mess of it to fail to make the next round.

Obviously the lower in the group they finish the more likely hood is the harder the opposition they would play in the knockout stages.

The selfish LFC fan in me wants Mane and Salah back asap but the Mane and Salah fan in me would like to see one of them win it.

It’s like choosing who would I Prefer to take away for the weekend. The wife or the girlfriend.

I hope all our players stay in the AFCON as long as possible with at least two in the final. Stop being so selfish, this is thier tournament and means so much to them. I want one of our lads to win it. Good luck to them. and don't be hone to soon.

OP, I saw the second half of their game vs Nigeria and it was not even close. Nigeria outplayed them to the point of the utter ridiculous and were it not for poor finishing, Egypt could have got a thorough beating.

And as soon as I saw Queiroz on the touchline for Egypt, I wasn't even surprised they were that bad. He played Salah thru the middle with no service from midfield which made it easy for the Nigerian CB's and Mid's (Ndidi and Aribo had a monster game) to smother him. He could have played Salah out wide where he does most of his damage BUT I guess The Portuguese Genius knew better, lol.
