Barca announce that dembele has to find a buyer by end of window.

Reckon we'll go in for him Ed?

Cheers.

Dembele does NOT have to find a buyer by the end of the window, he has a contract till the summer. Someone could come in and offer Barcelona £300m for him and he could just laugh at Barcelona and say he's going nowhere. Why would he move when the seasons over in 4 months.

maybe wants to play in champions league.

Any club interested surely wouldn’t pay a fee. The best scenario for Barcelona would be releasing him in January so they don’t have the wages to pay between now and the summer.

I really don’t see any club in this climate paying a transfer fee on top of his package of signing on fee wages etc.

{Ed002's Note - They cannot do that.}

Can I ask ed. could both parties agree to such suggestion. would that be in the laws of the game?

{Ed002's Note - They can mutually agree or pay up his remaining contract.}

20 Jan 2022 13:20:05
They’d still have to pay his contract up and they can’t afford to do that. So they’ll have to take a huge hit on the transfer fee just to get him off the wages. He has to rank as the worst transfer ever made.

Someone will probably come along after being dazzled by his videos on youtube, and fork out the 30-40 Million, this January, Barcelona will probably accept. Is he the only player so far that has not been linked with Newcastle?

20 Jan 2022 16:16:35
What ever we think on Dembele it’s well documented that Klopp likes him and he is available. Unfortunately because of our finances it probably rules out us being able to go for him unless Mane where to leave. Frustrating but reality.

20 Jan 2022 16:54:57
Nobody will buy him this month when he is free in the summer, Barcelona can't terminate his contract without paying him to the remainder so the best solution is a 6 month loan with the loaning team covering 50% or more of his wages.

20 Jan 2022 18:06:43
Could Barcelona not sell him for a nominal fee, rather than releasing him? Like, is there considerable cost to Barcelona to do this? I don't really know what's owed to the player by the selling club in a direct transfer, whether they have to pay any of his remaining contact or not if they're not releasing him.

Daretodream, if our finances rule us out of the running for Dembele that isn’t unfortunate so much as dodging a very injury prone bullet. So there might actually be an upside to being skint? Blessed are the poor and all that jazz.

If only we had Barcelona's business model. Dembele, Coutinho, De Jong etc etc.
I'll take Andy Robbo, Matip and Minamino, thanks.

Rigsby, you mean the Barcelona model that has gotten them in 1bn in debt? Yep, sign me up, lol.
