So a hypothetical question which I hope comes to fruition.

If we are to win the Kloppruple, would that put Klopp in as the greatest manager in Liverpools history?

Bill shankly pulled us up from div2 to top of the England, that’s quite a feat
Bob paisley not only sustained but bettered the success to that of consistent European dominance, the trophy count alone has been unrivalled
Klopp came to us while we are mid table and if he were to achieve more success, yes, he’ll be among the greats.

Was it 6 months earlier, before his appointment, we lost to Stoke 6-0? The transformation in players, coaching, scouting and the energy of Anfield at home games is amazing and Klopp has played a huge part in that, I see Klopp as the new Shanks and I hope his successor is the new Paisley.

You cannot judge Klopp till he leaves, but if he wins all 4 this season and wins a few more trophies before he leaves from where we where when he took over and the financial power of city and Chelsea I would put him top. I don’t think we could have got any Other manager come in and do what he has done in the circumstances.

It's difficult to judge coz shanks and paisley are backbone of what this Club has achieved all these decades dominating English football in 60s-80s

For Klopp he needs 4-5 league titles to be in conversation with the likes of paisley coz Shanks legacy is untouchable no matter what Klopp does coz even paisley couldn't touch shanks intact legacy.

Paisley's 6 league titles, 3 European Cups, 3 League cups, 1 Super cup, 6 Charity Shields and a UEFA cup in 8 seasons, is quite a haul to beat.

Legend gets banded about far too much these days but I personally believe Klopp has gained that status alongside Shankly, Paisley and Dalglish.

It’s always going to be hard to compare who is better as they are from totally different era’s. But they are all legends in my book.

He is an Anfield great in my books, when you consider he had to compete with the financial juggernauts that are Man City and Chelsea. Also, we have had to go toe to toe with one of the best squads ever assembled in City. Albeit, I believe our squad this season is actually better than theirs, if not on par which is a feat in itself considering the money spent on both sides. Take them out of the equation and Klopp would have had at least 3 Premier League titles before this season started. I say if we win the quadruple and add another two league titles, alongside possibly another Champions League he would have “universally” cemented his position as one of, if not the great. Again, in my books he is already a great and we should cherish every moment we have with him before he goes.

Klopp’s legacy is already sealed as a legend at LFC, IMO. Now where he to win the Kloppdruple (love it, OP) he would get really close to being the greatest in our history. But for him to be the outright greatest, he would have to win more than the Kloppdruple cos Paisley’s record is just insane that even Fergie’s in some categories can’t rival.

I think that where Klopp compares favourably to Paisley and Kenny is that he’s carried out a complete revolution at the club, modernised it beyond that which it has ever been.
Not too dissimilar to Shankly, but the 1959 version started from a much lower base and then endured for over 30 years.
All those managers worked with excellent back room staff too.
Klopp’s are second to none, as were their predecessors.

Klopp got the monkey off our back after 30 years of trying and also one hand tied behind his back financially compared to other top clubs.

The man is a legend already regardless of what the club wins or does not win in the coming few seasons. Shankley built the club in to a powerhouse, Paisley forfilled the clubs potential. But when Paisley was winning trophey after trophey, was there a team season in, season out, that pushed Liverpool the way Klopps Liverpool has been pushed . Maybe Forrest for a few seasons for sure. But never to the level that Klopps Liverpool is pushed season after season.

A mixture of perceived success, actual (titles) success, competing regularly and with a chance of a title thrown in. He did take us from also rans and effectively, upper-mid table mediocrity, where we had been on and off for 30 years, bar those 3 occasions when we got close to a tile and the 9 cups we won in 30 years.

So to answer my own question, even with a Kloppruple this year it wouldn't make him the greatest. As has been mentioned a lot, Paisley's haul over 8 and a bit years is insane. Success for a sustained period of time is something that should be taken into account.

I think given the financial aspect, the fact that we were medicore before he came in and we've become one of the most feared teams in Europe, he's already cemented his place as a legend. I think if we won the Kloppruple and then continued to win trophies for the remainder of his contract (2 more years? ) then he's most definitely in the conversation for the greatest ever.

Shanks. I mean when someone brings let’s say Bristol City. And turns them into one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’ll say that manager is on a par with Him.

Prior to our time in the 2nd division though, we'd already won 6 league titles and only been in the lower league for 8 years being in Div 1 from 1896 to 1954. Bristol City have been not very good throughout their entire history, their highest ever position being 8th in Div 1 in 1909.
