Just reflecting on if someone had said to me back in July how the last 8 months would pan out.

In the meantime Liverpool will win every game in the Champions League group stage, exact sweet revenge on Simeone, score 4 at Goodison, score 5 at Old Trafford, win twice in six weeks at Arsenal, your reserve goalie will score the winning pen in a cup final, and we'll give you a straightforward Champions League knockout draw against Benfica in the quarters then Villareal in the semis. The final itself looks like an expensive pain in the arse to get to, in Russia, so we'll get it moved across to Paris instead'.

'Well that's actually not all. The European draw is a little bit too winnable so let's have a few big European nights in there to spice it up. Let's beat the Spanish champions on their own ground, and have a party night in one of the great iconic grounds of Europe. You played in Madrid quite a bit recently, Barcelona are rubbish right now and you won in Munich the other year, so let's throw in a win in the San Siro . in fact, yeah, let's say two. Let's have 2 wins in the San Siro in the same season. In fact you'll have more away wins in Milan than Everton will manage in England all season! '

Excellent and hilarious. And nobody could have imagined all this at the beginning of the season. It really has been one hell of a ride, and still yet to finish. Fingers crossed.

Brilliant post! I was watching Jurgen fist pump after the Everton game and couldn't stop smiling. What an absolute legend. My favourite liveepool manager in my living memory and I'm 42.

We were thinking of stopping there a few years ago but went further south to Savannah and Tybee island. Looks a beautiful place though mate.
