I remember the pitch being poor and the game worse.
I remember them building up a young English left winger called Laurie Cunningham that played for Real. RIP Laurie. A true gentleman, I believe.
Real will have Sid Vicious Jnr playing on their left wing this time. I wonder if he's English with a name like that.

For us, I'd love to take Jockey Hansen, Souness and the King from the 81 team. We'd win in a canter.
Can you imagine Hansen and van Dijk?
Yozzer, Fabinho and Thiago/ Henderson?
The King, Salah and Mane with Diaz coming on?

{Ed0666's Note we don’t need any members of the 81 team. We’re more than good enough to beat them. We went into the 2017 final with an inferiority complex this time we should be going in with the converse. We have a plethora of world class players and play as a team, if we play to our level we’ll win. How many world class players do they have? Benzema who else??

Yet they beat the best team in the EPL Barry. You can't write them off in my opinion. When you look at their team and the age of some of their players you would think they wouldn't have a chance! Unbelievable really. We need to be at our best.

I find it incredible that there are people that think Madrid are not a good team and this will be an easier game than City. This is the team that beat City. Infact came back from the dead against, PSG, Chelsea and City. You don't want a team that does not know when they are beaten playing you in a final. If Madrid win on the 28th it will be the greatest European Cup/ Champions League performance of all time due to who they beatalong the way and how they did it. That is not an average team, that is a team that needs respect. Having said that, I feel if Liverpool play thier game and keep calm even if Madrid leave it to the 90th minuet to scroe twice they will still be needing two more to get level. But this will be a battle make no mistake.

I firmly believe city best city. They had quite a few moments to get the job done. To me they bottled last night when the pressure came on them. We nearly did too. Thing is we’d the ability to dig deeper. I want Madrid purely for the chance to get revenge. As for city- them not making the final having had it in their grasp is fantastic. I can only hope the ramifications reverberate through the club and their league form suffers. I just want it all really.

Make no bones about it, they’re a good side, but also they’re not unbeatable, as has been proven on multiple occasions this season.

Our best starting 11 is more than a match for them and I think we can handle Benzema’s physicality, our best midfield is a match for theirs, Courtois isn’t unbeatable and their defence isn’t impenetrable. We also have a far better side than when we played them in the last final and this time we’ll have our first choice centre backs available unlike last season.

To paraphrase a Tribe Called Quest, can we beat them? Yes we can.

Absolutely, Ed.
Both Real Madrid and Liverpool were very different beasts in 2018. They had outstanding technical quality (still do) and two of the best outlets in the game still in their prime (Bale, arguably Ronaldo) .
Liverpool, on the hand, had Moreno, Can and Lallana ready to bring off the bench and a hologram of a goalkeeper. This time we are clearly the better side, with better players in every position other than one of the midfielders and at CF.
