Huge game coming up this weekend and will be huge for momentum if can beat Chelsea again at Wembley and lift the FA cup again after so many years .

It's the hardest country in the world to win trophies, so winning this would be huge .

In light of that I wonder if Klopp is giving any thought to -

1- Not starting Trent and playing Joe Gomez to solidify the RB position as a one off tactic with Fab's absence reducing the protection Trent normally receives from him and Hendo, who will likely play central now .

2- Not starting Mo after a run of form that is very average by his standards, looking mentally drained and under performing from his incredibly high levels pre AFCON.

Not saying Klopp will do either, in fact it's 99% certain he won't, but I wonder if this is being discussed among the coaching staff as possible tactics for this match .

Agree0 Disagree0

1. No
2. No.

12 May 2022 14:50:39
1. No chance
2. Very tiny possibility if Firmino hadn't been injured recently or if Jota was in better goalscoring form, but as is no chance.

Chelsea will be without Kovacic and Liverpool without Fabinho. It’s even. I expect TT to nullify our full backs and we would look clueless upfront.

{Ed001's Note - how is it even? Fabinho is twice the player of your love child Kovacic.}

12 May 2022 15:41:50
The last time we played it did not look that way Ed01z Chelsea bosses our midfield pretty well.

{Ed001's Note - if you say so.}

12 May 2022 15:57:23
Is Kovacic as important to Chelsea as Fabinho is to Liverpool? Not at all. Even with Kovacic AND Kante possibly out, I still think no Fabinho hurts us more.

Fabinho is up there with VVD, TAA and Alisson as the only players in our squad who we would deeply miss in such a game (IMO of course) .

12 May 2022 16:30:10
Just coming back to this: The only possible way, other than an injury, I see Gomez starting is if Trent is moved into midfield. Which is also very unlikely.

I know Klopp has had him tuck in there at times this season, but it's an extra few steps to switch him fully to midfield, out of the blue, in an FA Cup Final. And I don't see it happening.

12 May 2022 17:22:55
Trent will never play in midfield while Klopp is manager.

12 May 2022 17:41:13
And rightly so, OMM.

12 May 2022 17:36:14
Chelsea have a far better midfield than us better legs and better technically. Watch them smother us with the press and and then play better football than us when we try and press them. In the game at the bridge both teams played an unbelievably high line and the pitch was so condensed I wonder if the same will happen on Saturday. If I was tuchel I’d play Werner havertz and pulisic who has made us look stupid many times. I hope kovacic and kante are out and tuchel is left with jorginho rlc saul and mount in midfield to likely play against what hendo Thiago and Jones/ keita/ milner? Clearly Elliot has lost the faith or is being very protected until next season as at the start of the season he was a starting midfielder and now he’s not getting in the squad. I expect konate to be in with Diaz mane and salah to start up top.

12 May 2022 18:59:50
Jezza I disagree with pretty much everything you just said. We are 3 points behind the leaders, won one trophy and in 2 finals yet Chelsea players made us look stupid.
Ridiculous comment.

12 May 2022 20:58:46
Chelsea totally out played our midfield in first half at the bridge. Go back and watch it. It may work in our favour Fabinho not playing as he’s been off the pace against the top midfields this season.

12 May 2022 18:21:50
And he’s back to being a Chelsea fan again, isn’t it Ed01?

12 May 2022 21:50:13
Tell you what, the rest of our team must be outstanding because I can't remember Chelsea winning.

Who are the top midfields? 2nd in the League, CL finalists, FA Cup finalists and League Cup winners. The ONLY team to play EVERY game possible this season. Like I said, the rest of our team must be world beaters.

{Ed014's Note - it amazes that Transition Time keeps on posting, who in there right mind keeps going somewhere where everyone knows you’re an utter arse. Bless him. 🤦‍♂️

12 May 2022 22:20:23
Chelsea and City and looked very ordinary first half of Villarreal game and yes rest of the team are world beaters.

12 May 2022 22:51:35
I really wouldn't be against playing firmino in the same position keita has been playing in lately.

13 May 2022 00:54:13
If we learned anything from our defensive crisis last season, it's that weakening another area of the pitch to prop up another is just a net negative for the team.

So I can't see that the coaches are discussing bringing in Joe as a makeweight for losing Fabinho. Rather I think they are just relieved that Hendo is fit and can play that position well and we'l stick with plan A.

I've been outspoken about Mo's performances for a long time, even since before AFCON. But he is a big game player and at this moment in time, it is still better to have him on the pitch than not.

13 May 2022 03:16:34
We have one player injured and we bring in a replacement for the best right back in world football, play our attacking false 9 link man who has been out for 2 - 3 weeks in central midfield and along the way have to listen to drivel from a converted Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Chelsea, Man City, Chelsea, Man City …. fan displaying a lack of knowledge about football in general and the worth of Chelsea’s midfield in particular.

Can we all take a couple of deep breaths and get a grip.

We will start the Cup Final with our strongest line up available. I think it might be

Ali

Trent
Ibou
Virg
Robbo

Naby
Hendo
Thiago

Luis
Sadio
Mo

With

Something like Kelleher, Joe G, Joel, Tsimi, Curtis, Millie, Morton, Bobby and Diogo on the bench.

I think we will win it 2-1 or 3-1.

12 May 2022 22:56:45
In answer to your question Ed014, Paul Pogba, Old Trafford.

{Ed014's Note - now how did I forget him! 🤣🤣

13 May 2022 05:57:40
And Mr Maguire at the same venue - his manager even asked the fans not to boo him 😁😁.

{Ed014's Note - now I’m trying to think who in that team they actually like! 😂😂

13 May 2022 06:25:48
Who exactly are “these” everyone Ed014. The unknown usernames lol. They have no control over my life, my decisions or my opinions and honestly I couldn’t give two flying pigs about theirs as well. If people think the way you want them to think then there wouldn’t be more than 100 posters on this site.

{Ed014's Note - well obvs everyone but you, you’re in a world of your own.

No one suggested anyone had control over your life either, that’s you being a sensitive little soul despite pretending you’re not.

I also have zero interest in you thinking anything.

Keep up the good work though.

13 May 2022 08:08:57
There are few on this page who likes me and I like them as well. @JK23 is one such soul who like me and my post. So you got it wrong there. Barry in Louth, Ed025, East Midland Scouser, Mcgoveb. so there are a few who are okay with my opinions. If people hate each other based on their opinions then I feel sorry for them.

Have a good at to you too Ed.

{Ed014's Note - good on you fella

13 May 2022 09:07:07
It’s very interesting to me how fans are so different today than they were back before the premier league started.
Maybe it’s the intense media coverage, social media, computer game generation? I’m not sure.
I just remember going to Anfield in the 80s and supporting the boys. No other team had any players better than ours because our players wore the red of Liverpool and as such got my full and unwavering support.
These days a lot of fans seem happier when they are criticising their own players and bigging up other teams’ players. Baffling.

13 May 2022 09:16:36
Somebody call a Wham-bulance.

13 May 2022 10:46:16
WDW I’ve actually heard lots of fans cheering Maguire at old Trafford mate. Yes it’s the away fans but a cheers a cheer 🤣.

13 May 2022 20:25:45
Nice one @JK - made me laugh 😁👍.
