given today's result and well played west ham btw what side does Klopp put out on tuesday? where only a win will do.

Jarred Bowen impresses me every time i see him and if Klopp has the hots for him i for one would not be upset if he was a major transfer target for the summer.

If after tuesday we are still only 1 point behind city going into the final game, i would still expect city to win but at least the doubts could creep in to there minds given what has already happened to them in the champions league.

Going into the final game with still a chance is all i am asking for and would make for great drama.

Its not over until its over and nobody knows that more than us reds fans who have seen both sides of that coin in our illustrious history.

PS: southampton have not lost 9-0 yet this season!

The goal difference is irrelevant now anyway, we just need to beat Southampton by any means necessary. The only way we win the league is by City dropping more points and us winning both of our games, finishing ahead of them on points.

I'd go (injury depending ofcourse)

Allison

Trent matip konate tsimikas

Hendo thiago naby (thaigo and hendo off if we have a good cushion)

Mane firmino jota.

That team should easily beat Southampton who have nothing to play for.

Got to use the squad now imo, can’t start Trent, and especially Hendo, Thiago and Mane.
Gomez to RB, Tsimikas at LB, midfield will have to be Milner, Jones and maybe Elliott.
Up front I’d go Bobby, Origi and Minamino I guess.
Otherwise the risk of muscle injuries is going to be huge?

I can see it now. We beat Southampton and Wolves. Ings gets a 90 minute equalizer against City and we win the title.

Any sort of win against Southampton, so at the very least City will need to win against Villa. A big ask but at least with a win against Southampton we will be keeping City honest.
As for a team to play Southampton, I guess we need to go as strong as we can without risking players getting injured. Tough ask and I think there will be some players who won't play. Its up to the other players to dig out any type of win.

Tbh I don't think we have a huge amount of choice but to start the lineup that the medical team suggest.

Presume Fabinho, Virg and Mo are out until at least Wolves.
Also presume Ox, Taki and Elliott are out of rhythm now so probably not options unless there's an emergency.

Then you have Trent, Robbo, Hendo, Diaz and Thiago who probably should be managed carefully. I know it seems like Diaz can run all day but he's played 70-odd games this season and the last thing you want is a career impacting hamstring injury.

Mane could probably go again but we do have Lord Divock waiting in the wings. And Taki has never really let us down when called upon. What a squad we have eh?

Alisson, Gomez, Konate, Matip, Tsimikas, Keita, Milner, Curtis, Jota, Bobby, Mane. Might be a bit of a risk but I don't really see any other choice.

Kingkenny7, I think the same about Bowen. Impresses me every time I see him play, he’s a very talented lad who has end product, but more than that he’s an honest grafter, never goes hiding. I could see him lining up for us and easily getting double figures in goals and assists.

As for the rest of the season, it’s still possible, we have to push City all the way.

Ings or Pipco Stone!

15 May 2022 21:14:14
Southampton won’t just roll over for us, I’d play
Allison
Gomez konate matip and tsimikas
Milner Henderson keita
Jota Bobby Diaz
Rotate if the game improves.

SJ, great lineup right there, man.

The problem is however good Bowen has been this season he’s only realistically done it for 1 season and he’s still unproven in the CL.

Due to him being English he would cost more than what we paid for Diaz, and also Salah and Mane (although they were a few years ago) .

The reason we would buy Bowen would be to replace Salah. And the only reason we lose Salah is because of cost so I’m not really sure where the sense is to then lose arguably the worlds best player over money to then sign an unproven player for what would be a reported club record.

Where's Eds002 saying Bowen as a Salah replacement?

Wouldn't be a bad bit of business if Salah has his heart set on leaving.
